Wow. Just wow.

We had a short, light rain this evening in N. Ohio. Unless there's more coming, it's too little too late, IMO. The plants may stay alive, but what they will produce is a different story entirely.

Before the concerns about the weather, animals feeds were rising. Not a few cents, but dollars. Big increases.

Don't have animals so there's no worry? Heh. Wait til it gets even worse at the grocery stores. And it will.

low corn yield means less food for animals, which means beef prices dropping but everything else skyrocketing. then it's going to be another season of deprivation...only without the buffer zone that is going to be this year's attempted market control.

it is all in the weather.

the prices you are seeing locally are much higher than what is being reported, nine's, so i find that interesting.

oh my god i just realised i have become a corntard. :P

Which prices aren't as high as what's I'm seeing locally, Anne? What is being reported? Wondering if they're less in other places.

I didn't realize they'd gone up that much until I came home and checked. There's an article on a mainstream news source but I think it's not one we're allowed to use.

Here's a report from WSJ, and just look at the futures!
According to the article, soybean futures settled at 16.65!
