Soaking in epsom salt solution, depending on where your pain is, can really help. If it's somewhere on your body not easy to soak, buy some magnesium oil (about $14-$22 USD online). That with ibuprofen and a heating pad has helped me with continuous leg pain since rupturing three lumbar disks, one of which was repaired with surgery. Was on Lortab for 4 years but decided the risk wasn't worth it anymore.
