'tsunami' clouds over oregon coast
july 15-16, anyone else see those?

east of portland towards coast.

very humid and midwest feeling here.

i did get pix but they make take forever to upload.
worth my weight in squirrels.

two nights in a row around sundown.

further away and higher up. same humidity. smaller due to distance and going the opposite direction.

it's higher than fog, i am a coast country girl i know my clouds and skies off the west coast. i LIVE THEM.

and the only other few places it was seen was midwest/south, like alabama.

Heres a brief explanation.

Kelvin-Helmholtz waves form when a fast moving layer of fluid slides on top of a slower layer and drags its surface.

In this case, quicker clouds at higher altitudes are pulling at larger, slower clouds closer to the ground.
