Catching A Summer Cold? Pertussis Outbreak May Be Worst in 50 Years, CDC Says

I have two teenagers, and both of their schools sent home notices about Pertussis at the end of May. There were so many students out with it! I've never, ever, ever seen this in the past. Even the principal of my younger (15) son's high school told me that she was starting to wonder where it was coming from, as in her thirty-three years as a school admin she had never seen an outbreak like this.

If anyone has symptoms - don't mess around! OP is right - see a doc. This is serious stuff.

My niece got it in a few weeks after her shot.

The outbreak in Florida is really bad. They didn't catch it soon enough. The Docs were treating everyone for viral infections instead of bacteria. Its probably going to get worse yet.

Get it checked out.

I caught this crap once and the bacteria moved into the inner ear OMG I wanted to die.

Never heard of it,but if it's bacterial then oil of oregano should smash it.

Oil of Oregano is really great for any kind of bacterial or viral infection!

I'm in New Mexico, and a lot of young students (grade school through HS) came down with it this spring. Since my boys are out of school right now, I'm not sure if it's still going on. They didn't catch it (knock on wood) but they had friends who did. And those friends WERE VACCINATED.
