Even with supporters, that may not be the best way to represent a company like Jc Penney. Do you guys think they will recover from this quickly or if it will take a while? ***Earth was once considered to be flat. Anything is possible.*** |

He believed that the Golden Rule applied to all aspects of life, and he intended to build a business using the Golden Rule as his philosophical cornerstone. In 1913, “The Penney Idea” was drafted, outlining Penney’s business values and principles. [link to retailindustry.about.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 3677166 United States 07/21/2012 09:09 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I remember the trips to Penneys when I was a kid. My mom bought most of our clothes there. She doesn't live near a Penneys any longer, but has a wedding to go to soon and insisted on taking a trip to Penneys as she was sure she would find the perfect dress. What crap! She searched and searched through some of the ugliest stuff I have ever seen. She is in her late 50's, very slender and there was nothing there that was age appropriate and if there was it was XXXXL. Having crap clothes, crap products, and no salespeople added to a militant homosexual agenda usuallly spells bankruptcy. Why any company thinks it has to get involved in social issues is a mystery to me. |
Merci

My local JCP has nothing - and I mean NOTHING - for plus sized women. The dresses they do have are form fitting and made of polyester. They have a few 15-17 size jeans for teens. No tall sizes. Any plus sizes only go to 3x. And shoes? NO SHOES for men over size 12. No wide shoes. At all. Their stores cater to a style I call Generic American. |

What the OP missed also that the old CEO of Apple took over and He is the one that chose the new add campaign and also is working towards eating rid of all cashiers and using iPads and such to shop and checkout . That may work at the Apple store, but asking Grandma to pull out an iPad to checkout at JCP will be like asking her to debate physics with Einstein. Ron Johnson is way out of touch with what shoppers want. He's single handedly ruined JCP. Before he took over, it was actually doing pretty well against all the more expensive department stores in this economy. People were already happy with the prices. But if Johnson thinks you can operate a multigenerational department store the same way as a high tech gadget store, he's a fool. Your ipad isn't going to answer all your complicated questions, run to the back and fetch your size for you, etc... I think he's hoping to get more people to have to purchase Apple products in order to shop. I think it will just make people go somewhere else. "Arrows of hate have been shot at me too, but they never hit me, because somehow they belonged to another world, with which I have no connection whatsoever." - Albert Einstein |
