For quite some time I've been thinking something similar. I thought that there is a period of time where you should NOT leave Earth, but TPTB will try something with hidden technology fooling everyone into trying to save themselves. So yeah, they'll take care of you for as long as they need to, so everyone thinks that everything is ok, lowering their guard (by forgetting who they are and that salvation is not outside, everything is within)... they think our souls are their property and they don't want to lose them.
