For many years I have this dream where I cannot open my eyes

But I can still see everything - but I still desperately want to open my eyes.
Today, after about forty years of the same dream, it was different.
In the old dreams I could always briefly force my eyes open with my fingers. ( I don't know why it mattered as I could see everything anyway) but in this dream I could not see nor could I force my eyes open with my fingers. A girl that I knew in high school (aquaintance, not friend) handed me a piece of paper with something written on it. I wanted to read what it said but because my eyes were closed I could not. The more I tried to force them open with my fingers the more they watered. Finally I gave up and asked her to come over and read to me what it said. I was very embarrassed about this as I was hoping that no one would notice my problem. Before she could come over I woke up.
Any dream gurus out there?
