Small study links the stress of today's rough times to a rise in the rate of obesity....

"There may be a love story at the intersection of the nation’s battered economy and a steady rise in its obesity rates: Compared with men without a care in the world, men who are stressed out are more likely to find a rounder, plumper woman more attractive."

So, highly stressed men and conspiracy go hand in hand. As a medical professional, I am highly intrigued. So, I gotta ask:

How much meat do you prefer if you were truly honest about what drives you sexually... Forget marriage, status, health etc... Men only, this is just about what drives you sexually...

The results of the study seem antithetical to today's modern imagery bombardment so I am curious about the results here from some of the most stressed out men on the planet!

7 choices for larger than average
1 choice for average
1 choice for anorexic.

Does that seem like a balanced poll?

That is rather interesting isn't it? Maybe there's something to the study but we are socially programmed to not admit it...

True - everyone has their preference but why?

Personally, I think most men prefer a little softness during stressful periods because it subconsciously reminds them of maternal care... Stress equals a need for care...

Re: Poll: New study links obesity to preference of stressed males - Your thoughts?
There is a difference between obese and full figured.
I believe that being over weight is linked to stress.
When one is stressed, metabolism goes into storage mode.
So, maybe stressed males are looking for someone who can relate to how they feel.
Maybe eventually we will all be divided into the stressors
and the stressees.
OR......maybe we can begin to look at the difference between
healthy, part of life stress and criminally perpetrated stress........Nah

It makes sense, doesn't it, how the mind sets have changed over the years? Used to be this type of woman was wanted by all the men in the tribes for her ability to bear children. Nowadays, they want an anorexic child who doesn't even have boobs.Go figure.

Big butt, average everything else is ideal.

Yeah, but stop and think about the type of women who were chosen by men before there was ever any tv. Hmmm? They were plain ordinary average women.

Uhm, I'm a woman so I can't vote, but what's the correlation between obesity and what type of body type do you prefer? Obesity is a medical condition, and a health issue, not a fetish. Here's a weight chart:

Weight Status Category Percentile Range:
Underweight Less than the 5th percentile
Healthy weight 5th percentile to less than the 85th percentile
Overweight 85th to less than the 95th percentile
Obese Equal to or greater than the 95th percentile
