Gut Bacteria Linked to Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome Identified
Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine have identified 26 species of bacteria in the human gut microbiota that appear to be linked to obesity and related metabolic complications. These include insulin resistance, high blood sugar levels, increased blood pressure and high cholesterol, known collectively as "the metabolic syndrome," which significantly increases an individual’s risk of developing diabetes, cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Good one.

I got off that Crestor shit.

Was destroying my joints.

Knew there had to be something much simpler going on.

I'll be taking a closer look at all of this.

Thanks.

Thanks.

I remember the guy who came up with the fact that stomach ulcers had a bacterial cause.

Wow, did they slam him.

So he whipped up a batch of bacteria, swallowed it.
Developed ulcers.
Then cured himself through an antibiotic regime.

Yep, I'll definitely be spending some time looking deeper.

I thought that the Amish grew their own cattle food... maybe they got the bacteria via their - in town - trips for some Outsider Food (McDonald's) which is considered to be a "treat".

This may tie in as well. People taking Prilosec (and other drugs like it), may become obese, even with very restricted caloric intake. My doctor had me on Prilosec for SEVEN YEARS, even though the literature states it shouldn't be taken for more than a few weeks. BTW, I've lost 20 pounds since I stopped taking it, and haven't dieted in order to do so. Apparently Prilosec interferes with normal gut bacteria. Weight gain is a supposedly rare side effect of these drugs, but I'd bet it is more widespread than reported.

For many yes. Personally, I exercise every day, take in about 1200 calories, and eat very healthful foods. Some drugs, by interfering with the normal flora of the gut, and changing the pH levels, can actually cause weight gain for no other apparent reason. Even while taking Prilosec, I was not obese, but was definitely over what I consider my ideal weight. I never eat fast food or junk food because it makes me feel like crap. I don't know how anyone can eat that stuff every day.

No? No. I'll bite that it's a mind set... They were listing the bacteria and their importance toward a better metabolism. The bacteria. Your bacteria. They determine how you get fat. The brain. Your brain. It tells your body what to do.

Absolute BS. This is just your excuse for hating the overweight.
I was very skinny until I began taking 3 grams a day of amoxicillin for my chronic Lyme... I am now 1 pound under OBESE and the only way I can maintain this disgusting state is by NOT EATING REFINED CARBS--- EVER.

I challenge you do what I do--- you will give up after a few days!. Even if you could restrict your refined carbs to NONE, you would probably lose major amounts of weight on what I eat daily--- and I have to struggle DAILY to maintain my weight at one pound below obese-- WITH NO REFINED CARBS--- EVER!!

Re: Gut Bacteria Linked to Obesity and Metabolic Syndrome Identified
interestingly, researchers also analyzed people's gut bacteria by their occupation and found that those who had regular contact with livestock, such as farmers and their wives, had bacterial communities dominated by Prevotella, a type of bacteria that is also abundant in the gut microbiota of cattle and sheep. "These findings suggest that environmental exposure may play a role in determining the composition of the gut microbiota in humans," Dr. Fraser says.

So don't use a toilet after a fat ass. Don't use any chair after a fatso especially where they sit for longer periods of time and are more likely to fart out some fatso bacteria, like movie theaters and airplanes

Something called Essential Enzymes might help. Many health food stores in the US sell them.

The immune system begins in the gut.

So if your gut isn't healthy, you aren't.

Try Sustenex brand ganadenbc 30. À probiotic in a spore form that survives stomach acid. Research looks promising. I found it at Walgreens.
