In the fourth generation after Enos...the first-born son was named Enoch...Genesis 5: 24 states that: “And Enoch walked with god and he was not for god took him.”...This is substantially enlarged upon in the extra-biblical The Book of Enoch...which details Enoch’s first visit with the angels of god...when the up-and-coming patriarch was instructed in various sciences and ethics...

Then after Enoch returned to the Earth by way of the craft...yes I said it...to pass the knowledge and the latest up-to-date requisites of priesthood to his sons...Enoch was taken aloft once more to permanently join the Nefilim in their celestial abode.

The Nefilim, by the way, were first mentioned in the Bible in Genesis 6:4, where the name was incorrectly translated from the original Hebrew, as “giants”...The Nefilim we will return to later...

Meanwhile back on the Sumerian front...we learn of similar stories...The Sumerian texts tell of several instances when chosen mortals were permitted to go up to god’s abode for advice or favor...but mostly with the objective of escaping mortality.

Numerous texts describe god’s palace whose portals were guarded by a god of the Tree of Truth and a god of the Tree of Life...his throne...the manner in which other gods approached big daddy...and how they sat in his presence...For both gods and selected mortals could petition god.

One of the Sumerian tales describes the case of Adapa...aka Adama...aka Adam the “model of Man”...who was so perfect and loyal to the creator god...who had created him...that the creator god himself arranged for his adopted son to be taken on a holiday to HEAVEN...Creator god even described to Adapa what to expect...I hope he also had motion sickness meds...that first flight can be a doozy!

The idea of Adam being priest-kings makes a lot of sense...With the population of miners and ditch diggers increasing with every passing year there was the inevitable result that authority figures would be needed to handle the output of the suggestion boxes and complaint departments...

one might suspect that the gods could have been inundated with complaints...But inasmuch as the gods were probably not eager to handle this...they may have established Adam’s descendants in the roles of priest-kings.

Let’s face it...it’s hard to get good help even today...and once you’ve trained a king properly there has got to be some advantage in keeping him around for as long a period of time as feasible...
