Heretic mentioned he might be loosing power in 48 hours... I assumed that to mean electricity... perhaps?

Hope he returns.... I think we're all missing his input :)

Re: Calling all Iconoclasts... Enter. The Truth of Our Origins.
To skipp ahead...Sometime early in the fourth millennium B.C.E...the royal ruler of Heaven, along with his official spouse, paid a state visit to Earth...A brand-new sacred precinct with a temple-tower had been built in their honor at a place that was later to become the city of Uruk (the Biblical Erech)...

A ceremonial meal began with a ritual washing of hands on a celestial signal...the appearance of Jupiter...Venus...Mercury...Saturn...Mars...and the Moon...At the same time...an astronomer-priest...at the “topmost stage of the tower of the temple” watched for the appearance of the gods...When they were sighted...the priests began singing...“To the One Who Grows Bright...the Heavenly Plane of the Lord”...and a psalm...“The Creator’s Image Has Risen”...

Bonfires were lit to signal the event with the news...the bonfires being passed from city to city...(Think of it as fireworks on the Fourth of July.)...It was at this time the gods had begun reestablishing in Sumer the Olden Cities...beginning with Eridu and Nippur...This point marks the beginning of urban civilizations...in effect...the beginning of the Sumerian Civilization...

Meanwhile...back at the Sumerian Ranch...another of the results of the gods state visit was to establish clearly in the minds of the peasantry (essentially all of mankind) of the sacredness of two numbers...

The first is the number seven...the sacred terrestrial number...and the second is the number twelve...the hallowed celestial number...Note Seven (7) is the number of: the days of the week...the chakras...the wonders of the world...dwarfs...colors of the rainbow...baseball innings before the “stretch”...visible “planets” (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn)...stars of the big dipper (Dub’he, Me’rak, Phec’da, Me’grez, Alioth’, Mi’zar, and Alka’id)...and bodies of Alchemy (Sun-gold, Moon-silver, Jupiter-tin, Mars-iron, Mercury-quicksilver, Saturn-lead, and Venus- copper)...

Twelve (12) on the other hand...is the number for...The ruling council of the gods...the tribes of Israel...disciples...all the planets of the solar system (the “seven” plus, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto and Marduk)...jurors in a court case...females in a wicca coven (which also includes one male)...and months of the year...

In Sumerian texts mankind is effectively divided into two species...One is the civilized man (those in the cities and towns of the civilization)...and the other is the animal-man (people outside of civilization)...In fact in the true spirit of blind bigotry and racial bias...any member of the human species who was not living within the constraints of civilization was not even considered human!!...

It doesn’t take a real stretch of imagination to conjure up visions of such heavies as the gods making it known that the state visit of Big Daddy would be honored as the time for the “real men” to invade the “non-humans” (also known as the goddess-worshipers)...and begin to reclaim the earth for the patriarchal paradigm...Thus the Kurgan Invasions!...

Okay...It’s just a theory...But it makes sense...It also ties in well with our story...

Re: Calling all Iconoclasts... Enter. The Truth of Our Origins.
Was there something more to the story of Noah...his vineyard...and his becoming drunk?...There is an answer...a rather profound one...Suffice it to say that the roots of the vineyard...once mature...go incredibly deep...often as much as sixty feet.

This explains on the one hand why it takes decades for a vineyard to produce really high quality wine...it takes that long for the roots to really sink their teeth into the earth...And it is at that depth that the roots of the wine tap into mineral deposits not normally acquired in such prolific quantities as at the higher levels of soil and arable land...The root system of the vineyard is thus very significant...

The Bible made a special point of noting Noah’s new career choice...following his tenure as Captain of the Love Boat...this might suggest something we already knew...wine may be important to health...And by following that logic...then perhaps there was something about the wine...some esoteric mystery whose secret Noah was closely guarding...which Ham perhaps intentionally sought to learn...If in fact Ham’s indelicate intrusion was intentional...then Noah’s cursing Ham's throwaway son begins to make sense...One might also recall the Sumerian version of Noah...whereby he was given eternal life...

This might make you wonder if there is some great secret in the wine to justify indulging in a big way...Noah may have indeed been drunk on the wine...but perhaps he was more in an altered state...rather than a drunken one...The possible ramifications are intriguing...fascinating...and out-of-this-world speculative...Actually...Perhaps we should think of it as out-of-this-dimension speculation...

What is there in the wine that would produce such an altered state?...What is the significance of the fact that the roots of wine go so deep...What fabulous mineral are the roots tapping into...Are vineyard roots the original gold diggers?...What in the world am I talking about?...
 Quoting: Settle4It

Mmmm! Very interesting. May I say I am really enjoying this thread. I love it when something I have been shown or thought I understood gets turned on its head!

To think I thought Ham was sneaking into that tent with more debase and sexual thoughts on his mind lol! I like your idea better and Saddletramp was right as soon as you said it those visons of blue apples started dancing in my head.

Looks like we've stolen poor Heretics thread...hope he's okay and not drowndededed by Isaac (a good Biblical name)...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

I was thinking about him also...hope he is well and jumps back on soon!...Hope he's not upset about his thread...if so I shall give him a glass of wine!!
 Quoting: Settle4It

I don't know Heretic on any personal level, but, I do read when he writes, and find him to be extremely generous. In his absence, he may appreciate that like-minded people are conversing....

If not, I've got a nice cabernet for him also!

Kismet
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21363812

I think Heretic was trying to avoid people using religion as a means of writing off the ideas he was presenting so while we are exploring biblical text I believe it is still very much in keeping with the threads goal.
Cabernet sounds good Kismet!

Re: Calling all Iconoclasts... Enter. The Truth of Our Origins.
Let us allow the historical dust to settle...and then spring forth in the next time line with the nitty gritty of the hustle and bustle of the next millennia

1. After Marduk was defeated in the Second Pyramid War...the first born son of creator god took his marbles and went home to sulk...But being one of the more egocentric of the young gods...is there any doubt he would return?...Of course not...But just how will he manage to become the premier god of Babylon and begin the time-honored activity of history revisionism...putting himself in the role of the avenging god in the Sumerian Epic of Creation?...What’s next for Ra!?...Do we really know who Ra is?...What does it mean when we say: Hip, hip, who Ra?

2. Thoth known to the Sumerians as Ningishzida and to the Greeks as Hermes...was apparently the heir favorite of creator god... Inasmuch as our creator god was a master of the art of accomplishing his many nefarious goals through guile... wit...and intelligence...it seems only likely that Thoth would continue the tradition...And he did...Can you imagine which new alias he would take in coming times and in different places?

3. If the gods are really into astrological alignments of the planets...specifically the visible “planets”...then what can we expect for the millennium beginning in 3,000, 2,000, 1,000... B.C.E.?...And what about 2012 A.D.?

4. When Quetzalcoatl first appeared in Mexico...he was described as tall of stature...bright of countenance...bearded...wearing a long tunic and carrying a staff which was shaped like a serpent and painted black, white, and red...Quetzalcoatl in fact means “Feathered Serpent”... Who was this bearded man destined to shape the future of Central America?...What was the significance of Quetzalcoatl’s staff...and in particular the three colors and their order?

5. The need for tin to produce bronze was critical to the gods and forced them to go far a field to find the metal... Where did they go?... What did the Sumerian texts mean when they talked about the “far-away” mountains?...Where was the source of the metals described by Job?... Was the Tin Man there as well?

For these and other fascinating things stay tuned...

See I just don't understand your attitude? Sure we could be miles off but perhaps we are closer to the real truth than you know. And if we were, it wold not have to effect your belief in Jesus as saviour at all.

Jesus wanted everyone to stop worshipping idols ie. multiple deities of which in some cultures were even said to have ruled here in person, popstars etc. and to only worship the one true God.

Throughout history you have rulers trying to convince their populace they were really gods, how much easier would that be for an advanced culture? Jesus said give those things that belong to the rulers like coins with their likeness etched on it to the rulers but give your hearts to the Lord. He warned that we would be duped by beings capable of performing miracles into thinking they were Gods, and to me this story is fitting together amazingly well.

Lol! You remind me of myself. I asked the same questions and felt the same way about the genesis story. (As a child I was banned from asking questions during religion class).

Why would a loving God seemingly entrap his children and banish them if he loved them. Why would an omnipresent God mention gold? And why does the God of the old testament come across as cruel, vindictive, and jealous while the God of the New testament is loving and willing to sacrifice FOR his children rather than demand sacrifices OF them?

Did having a son (becoming a Daddy) really change God that much?

Seems to me that he either suffered split personalities or one testament refers to a real God, creator of all with no need for petty human emotions like jealousy and the other sounds more like a king or landlord (as you put it so well) trying to keep control of their genetic experiments.

If we were genetic experiments then these landlords are capable of genetic splicing. But I doubt they were responsible for giving us our souls. Something much greater than them did that in my opinion.

Again.... Luvin' it!!

Reviewing ancient art, one finds 'grapes' all over the place - are also referred to as 'little blue apples'. These depictions, I believe, represent a crucial physical, as well allegorical, meaning - dimensionally speaking :) In the Sumerian texts, Ziusudra (Utnapishtim, Noah) was indeed "taking his medicine" when drinking the wine from the goddess :)

Who said 'stargate'? no one, that what I thought! LOL

Nice write up OP. Unlike most of the people(maybe?) that post information on human origins the terminology you use tells me you have at least a base knowledge of anthropology. I remember a few years ago in my anthropology and archaeology classes the main theme that my professor was trying to get across to us were that the theories of human beginnings are still nothing but theories. She would even reiterate what the definition of a theory is. So basically the themes of "we don't really know" and "we currently accept this because its the best we got right now."

This Article you've written is plagerized from 2 articles written about Stitchen and Pye. If you do a search about these guys word for word this shit comes up. All you did was copy the information from other sources. It might have taken a while to post it but this is not your shit its there's.. Give them credit for it and those whom really wrote the Articles. Bad Boy.

Gracias, glad you enjoyed it. Like I said hopefully I'll have something more than excerpts for everyone to read this spring...
"And how can a man die better than facing fearful odds, for the ashes of his fathers, and the temples of his Gods..." ~ Horatius

"Because he told the truth, and once you've heard the truth, everything else is just cheap whiskey..."

Saddletramp?

How do I find your book, please?
 Quoting: Éireann

Can't till it's published, finishing up a proof edit, then off to typesetting (computer formating is more like it), then hopefully by next spring they will have a salable product!!!

Thanks for asking though, the book is titled Skin Changer, it will be available on Amazon when the publisher gets it out...

Oh noes! I'll be waiting for the release, Saddletramp. Money in hand!

Ok. I'm hooked. Those excerpts rock.

Greg Bear has been my favorite Sci-Fi Horror author for a long time. His books are rather geeky and difficult to read without some knowledge of genetics, physics, and applied sciences, but I learn a lot from his books. I can see from your excerpts, that my other fascination, that of ancient cultures and myth, is going to rapidly get a new infusion of information. I can't wait!
