Happy ..cheerful..sociable people..not soppy or that interpret Christianity is a dour ..harsh ..sad way..but with joy..that are love..and live love..and reflect Christs teachings etc..

Normal really..I regard this as normal..but it seems out of the norm today in this society

With a vision of the All like St. Francis..

WH,
People have been searching for Saints for millenia and it is not quite that easy.

Just because You want to meet a Saint doesn't mean you will ever meet one.

BUT how do you know you haven't meet and interacted with a Saint already? How do you know what to look for. How do you know what a Saint really is?

You have to deserve the honor and that my dear is a very very hard thing to achieve.

One thing that I do know is if your Mother gave you life and sacrificed for you to give you the best she knew how, then maybe just maybe you have already met a Saint.

i always found that St Francis was very 'accessible', spiritually alive and resonant. If you are interested in a saint it helps to read about their life and to absorb yourself in their philosophies. But I'd suggest choosing to focus on one whose own goals and life mission match your own most closely, someone you get a feel for. Also check in with the calendar of saints....St Michael's day for instance

Blessings to you, I hope you find what you seek!

Maybe it will help you if you know what you are looking for.

Php 4:21 Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.
Php 4:22 All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

A few mentioned in the Bible by name:

Rom 16:1 I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:
Rom 16:2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also.
Rom 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus:

Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.
Rom 16:6 Greet Mary, who bestowed much labour on us.
Rom 16:7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.
Rom 16:8 Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord.
Rom 16:9 Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved.
Rom 16:10 Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household.
Rom 16:11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord.
Rom 16:12 Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord.
Rom 16:13 Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine.
Rom 16:14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them.
Rom 16:15 Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them.

hag'-ee-os
From hagos (an awful thing) compare G53, [H2282]; sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated): - (most) holy (one, thing), saint.

Perhaps then you should be thinking like Christ and love everyone, make friends with liars, whores and thieves.

Christ wasn't looking for Saints, he saw the good in ALL people and overlooked the minor imperfections.

As long a you go looking for what you deem a good Saint, you will never find one. No human on the planet can ever live up to our expectations of what perfection is in our mind.

Oh! I want to add Thomas Merton - definitely not going to be canonized anytime soon. Was one a great contemporary author and poet, peace advocate, is considered to be the Father of Contemplative prayer practice in the Catholic Church. A tragic hero, he was seriously flawed and conflicted, but he always fought within himself to be as close to God as he could be, and kept at it until his untimely death in 1969. He was a friend of MLK, Thich Nhat Han, and the Dalai Lama recognized him as a Buddha. His autobiography "The Seven Story Mountain" tells the story of his conversion, although it was heavily edited by the Abbot of the Gesthemani Monastary. Read that and "The Man in the Sycamore Tree, the good times and hard life of Thomas Merton."

Funny Jesus never said anything about publicly condemning others religion. Never said much of anything about it being Christian like to put others down in any fashion.

It's crap like the post above that make some people avoid anything to do with Christianity. Therein lies a sin.

Re: Im searching for Saints..input appreciated
Our Lord loves us so much he is going to give us
a wonderful gift. He is going to give us an illumination of our souls so we will be ready for the second coming of his son. This is an outline of what he is planning to do for us

Leaflet Text

THE ILLUMINATION OF CONSCIENCE predicted by Our Lady in Garabandal in 1961 will take place soon to save the world.
THE WARNING
New prophecies received by European Visionary reveal global events in the lead up to the Second Coming
WHY IS THE WARNING TAKING PLACE?
• To prove to all that God exists.
• To bring everyone back to Jesus and the way of the truth.
• To dilute the impact of sin and evil in the world through conversion.
• To help save us before the final day of judgement by giving us a chance to ask for forgiveness for the sins f we have committed.
• To convert non-believers who would have no chance of redemption without this great act of mercy.
• To strengthen the faith of believers.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING THE WARNING
• Every one over the age of 7 will experience a private mystical encounter with Jesus Christ which will last anything up to 15 minutes
•ng It is a gift from God the Father to convert people back to the truth. It is how the Final Day of Judgement will unfold only this time you will not be condemned. Instead you will be given a chance to ask for forgiveness.
• Two comets will collide in the sky.
• People will believe it to be catastrophic worse than an earthquake But it is not – it is a sign that Jesus has come.
• The sky will turn red it will look like a fire & then you will see a large cross in the sky to prepare you first.
• Atheists will say it was a global illusion. Scientists will look for a logical explanation but there won’t be one.
• It will be spectacular and will not hurt us because it comes as an act of Love and Mercy from Jesus.
• Our sins will be shown to us and this will make us feel tremendous sorrow and shame when they are revealed to us. Others will be so sickened and shocked by the way in which their sins will be revealed that they will drop dead before they have a chance to ask for forgiveness.
• Everyone will see the state of their soul before God – the good they have done in their lives, the grief they have inflicted on others and all that which they failed to do.

An interesting life is the life of St. Philippine Duschene (pronounced du shen like the name Ken).

She was dedicated to educating children. Started as a nun in France and requested to go to America to educate kids in response to the Louisiana Bishop's request for an educator. Mind you, at that time America was dealing with wild animals and Indians who weren't too happy about new permanent visitors. Her energy and tenacity was truly amazing. Facing death so many times, she never failed. She kept her promise and stayed on task.

Apparently, as the story goes, Philippine and another French nun Madeline Sophie Barat landed in Louisiana. Both women headed up the Mississippi, one headed east and one west, educating children along the way.

The Sacred Heart schools they formed have grown to Sacred Heart schools all over the world. Many famous and diverse people have been educated at Sacred Heart Schools. For example: Lady Gaga and Coke Roberts - Sacred Heart on 91st Street, NY and Ethel Kennedy - Sacred Heart Greenwich Academy, CT and Sacred Heart Manhattanville College. There are so many more...
