Anonymous Coward User ID: 20503601 United States 09/02/2012 11:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | "Symptoms of plague – swollen lymph glands, sudden onset of fever or chills, severe headache or extreme exhaustion – begin two to six days after a person is bitten by an infected flea, rodent or cat. The plague can be successfully treated if diagnosed promptly. Two animals have tested positive for plague so far this year." |

Response, immediately poison lots of prairie dog villages for no good reason. In SoCal a while back, where I ride my bike. [link to latimesblogs.latimes.com] |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7682502 Its called Botox. It would not trouble me if these people got sick from such idiotic choices. Umm... Botox isn't Bubonic Plague, it's Botulism. Not that injecting yourself with Botox isn't stupid., It just isn't Bubonic Plague Unity is the great goal toward which humanity moves irresistibly. But it becomes fatal, destructive of the intelligence, the dignity, the well-being of individuals and peoples whenever it is formed without regard to liberty, either by violent means or under the authority of any theological, metaphysical, political, or even economic idea. That patriotism which tends toward unity without regard to liberty is an evil patriotism, always disastrous to the popular and real interests of the country it claims to exalt and serve. Often, without wishing to be so, it is a friend of reaction – an enemy of the revolution, i.e., the emancipation of nations and men. -Mikhail Bakunin- |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4727082 United States 09/02/2012 12:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The was an air leak at a lab in the CDC in June: [link to abcnews.go.com] Since then we've had outbreaks of Legionnaires (Canada), the Hantavirus (Yosemite, U.S.), E-bola (Africa) and now a single person (could be more since the victim was at a family gathering) coming down with the Bubonic plague in Colorado? I remember there being a sign at the Grand Canyon to not feed the animals (specifically squirrels) due to risk of Plague contamination. I truly am disgusted with the whole rodent family. *I'm shuddering right now). They're disgusting, plague carrying creatures. |

Quoting: WindyMind I live in Boulder and have for 38 years. For 38 years a few cases pop up in the state like every year and there's an overreaction. This has the familiar scent of prairie dogs in the way of developers as usual. Development schedules have become ambitious. We get about 8 freight trains running through daily all night long, up from maybe 1 or 2 per day, or none at all. |

They're disgusting, plague carrying creatures. I wonder if it has anything to do with the people who are now keeping rats as pets. Google it if you don't believe it. There are folks keeping rats as PETS. Ick. |

Not that injecting yourself with Botox isn't stupid., It just isn't Bubonic Plague haha, of course you are correct. always love it when people march in to a thread with 'facts' botox has been used for around 30 years+ in the successful treatment of facial spasm and other debilitating afflictions are those patients stupid? botox is the isolated part that causes paralysis - in this case temporarily, hence treatments either for medical or cosmetic applications, need repeating at 3-4 monthly intervals NO FUCKER HAS EVER CAUGHT BOTULISM FROM IT ffs |
