Thrift shop books say alot about Americans
Tons and tons of Self-help books; how to improve your life, fix your credit, be happy.

Books on pharmacy drugs.

Tons and tons of biographies on evil people masqueraded as heroes, people like Bill Gates, Hillary Clinton, Obama.

I found a whole bunch of "Left Behind" books on post rapture nonsense.

Fiction is OK, but not the kind of fiction you see at the thrift store, mostly low-brow stuff. Lots of Stephen King (don't get me wrong I like SK, but do people read anyone else?). A whole bunch of dime store romance novels.

Books that are missing: Books that impart knowledge. There are NO books on electronics, mechanical repair, or botany that helps you identify plants and trees. NO books on teaching skills that could help you survive, or teach skills of any grade whatsoever. There are some books on knitting and gardening, that's about it.

Is anyone wondering why this country is in so much trouble? People are literally stupid. Even if they do read, the shit they read is so retarded you can't help but wonder what they do for a living to even be able to afford such garbage in the first place.

Did you ever consider that people might keep the good books and give the shit to the thrift stores? Thrifts stores and Goodwills usually end up with the crap that people couldn't sell at their garage sales or trade at the used book stores.

People keep the knowledge books, at least I do. Plus I make my own notebooks.

Watched a documentary the other day. It was about these huge seed banks. The odd thing was that all it was is seeds. Seeds without knowledge are just seeds. You have to know what parts to use, how to use them, can you eat them or will it cure you or kill you. Plus how to grow them.

So here is hoping that if tptb kill us off the laugh will be on them when they don't have any idea what to do with those seeds.
Behind every myth lies a mystery, and every legend holds an echo of the truth ……

Gates of Vienna.

"May we smite our enemies to the darkest chamber of hell, for we wish only to live in peace, and they desire only to put their boot upon our neck."

Re: Thrift shop books say alot about Americans
self help books are bullshit so we throw them away
novels and biographies are read once and discard
tec manuals and how to books are kept for reference
thats why you dont see them in the thrift shops.

I still have books on c++ programming I bought before windows 95.

i think you might be missing the point here, "THE BOOKS WERE BOUGHT", hence the ability to give to thrift shop. with your point of view, then the same people that bought the shit also bought "GOOD' books. i think you are, well don't take this wrong, but the evidence points to you being STUPiD.

Re: Thrift shop books say alot about Americans
I have over 1,000 books - the ONLY ones that are non-fiction are the ones given to me. I end up giving these useless novels to libraries to sell at a quarter apiece.

Also make hard copies of vital info I find on the Net. If the Net goes down, I have my copies.

THIS is why there are secret societies - they have protected their KNOWLEDGE for centuries. USEFUL knowledge that is.

No time for ignorance now. Get the reference and technical books now, if not for yourself, then for your children and so forth.

I don't think it's only about Americans. At least 2 generations of people worldwide, are absolutely LOST by lectures like "Harry Potter" and "Twilight saga".

I have "Where there is no Doctor" and "Where there is no Dentist". I have LOTS of books on wild edibles and mushrooms. All these books I had to buy NEW. Also some books on off the grid survival. You would not find these books in a thrift store, not EVER. Recently while riding my bike, I found a book lying in the middle of the street - a haynes manual on Jeep repair. I was ecstatic at that find. To think you would have better luck finding such books in the street.

That's true but it was enough to get me started on the basics. Since then I've learned to get both Chilton and Haynes of every vehicle I have. The 100 dollar manufacturer shop manuals are bit beyond my reach, I try to use the web where the commercial manuals are no help.

Also left unsaid is the TONS of excellent how to videos on youtube, by donyboy73 and others. All these vids are well worth downloading on cd's to keep for reference. There are lots of good people out there willing to share what they learn and know.
