Rev. 7:14 is where the angel tells John that not only is the crowd "coming", it is specified by the angel as "the great tribulation". This term is held by every scholar I've seen as referring specifically to the last half of the Tribulation, and only a tiny minority put the seals in the 2nd half (because they put all the judgments there). So unless one takes the view that all the judgments are in the 2nd half, the seals must be a part of the 1st half, and yet the crowd comes from the 2nd. Re. references to the church, it is not mentioned on earth either, so I still stand by my view that they're not there. Yes, I'm familiar with the prevalent commentary on Rev.7:14 being in the "2nd half", it's what I grew up learning. The word "out of" is indeed ek which means "from the midst of" so I think we are snatched out of or away from the impending wrath in Rev.6:12. The reason the church isn't "mentioned on earth either" is because John is in heaven watching Jesus open the seals and relaying what's going on in heaven...so he's not mentioning what's happening on earth.
