L User ID: 70015407 Canada 10/15/2015 06:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Best way to quit smoking or nearly anything is to do so much of it in one evening that you are physically sick. May not work for hard drugs as you may be dead. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70085066 I do not agree. Best way is to "see" what you want... after your biology stops: to go where the smoking is just inspire from the Hell fire smoke or to enjoy the Heaven - there's no store for cigarettes, no smoking designated areas... why should i believe I van go there and regret due to the lack of cigarettes...- it is insane!!! If you think just a little as a man, there's nothing you cannot avoid except your stupidity by imagining is just a little .... something, not worthy... or is time to repair... This is the demonic ideas, do not rely on them. Be confident and do not hate, do not let the temptation to take control of your conscience. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69192467 United States 10/15/2015 06:31 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A year ago my father in law was diagnosed with a Pancoast Tumor from smoking. It was attached to his lung and the back of his chest wall. Excruciating pain. Through the whole process of watching get tortured to death (he's still barely alive) the fear of God was put into me so I quit chewing. Still chewing these damn lozenges though. I know I'm still in limbo with it. There is no place on earth more forlorn than the waiting room of an Oncology building. And guess what, everyone in there was a smoker. Every last one of them. I know because I'm now acquainted with all of them. Smoking causes cancer for sure. Smoking is slow suicide. And lung cancer is one of the most painful ways you can die. Once the tumor grows so big it starts suffocating you. Day after day your breaths become shorter and more painful. It's a fuckin horrible way to die. And on top of it all you're usually doing chemo and radiation which do nothing to help but make the pain ten times worse. I used to smoke about 12 years ago. I switched to chewing because it's a cleaner and more discreet method of maintaining my nicotine addiction. I also thought it would be easier to quit that over smoking. But I kept putting it off until I looked up the types of cancer you get from chewing and it's worse than smoking. With chewing you have about a 100% of dying if you get the cancer because it's right in your head. So they chop off half your face then you probably die anyway. With my father in law they cut out half his lung, a couple ribs, and some of the chest wall. But the surgeon couldn't get all the cells and the shit came back with a vengeance. Now he is doing experimental trials and waiting to die. He is yacked up on powerful drugs. Sits on the couch all day and has an emotional breakdown every few hours as the realization of imminent death hits him. He goes to church. He was always spiritually shallow but now he is in a race to find meaning. I guess that's the only benefit of this whole thing. In a way for him, the cancer is a spiritual blessing since he never would have sought understanding otherwise. Anyway, don't kid yourself that you can keep smoking without catching lung cancer. I'm seeing it first hand. I know at least 50 people right now with cancer and ALL of them are smokers except maybe one or two. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25141269 you'd be a complete fool to go back now after all that torture. now never have another tobacco product. EVER. OK?? OK.. I need more time, still have cravings. maybe i wouldn't if I kept taking the meds, but they have bad side effects I am told. I commend you for quitting without the meds. Chantix is bad shit, totally changes your brain chemistry so that you can't feel pleasure from anything. I've seen it first hand. |

I started Vaping and just kept dropping the nic Level very slowly. The cool thing is I don't miss cig's at all and hanging out with smokers isn't a problem. I smoked for 37 years and loved smoking!! User ID: 710586 United States 10/15/2015 08:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Congratz, I quit in December of 2008 for a woman. I met her online and she was hot and wanted to go out on a date. She asked while I was on the phone with her if I smoked, as I was smoking as I was talking to her, I said no. She said good because that was a deal breaker. I met her and she was HAWT, so I quit on the spot and never looked back. Broke up with her about a year later. Pussy will make you do some crazy things. Still cigarette smoke free till this day. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 70373315 Sweden 10/18/2015 02:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have Been smoking for about 5 years, 22 years old now and I had a bad experience last week. I felt something in myleft chest area (male) had an panic attack while smoking my morning cigg. Felt like my heart was saying game over. Spended 1 day at hospital, ultra sounded my heart, ekg showed a normal but fast heartrate so they took me to a Bigger hospital by ambulance. Well there they did a scan of my lugns and that one hour waiting period was the worst hour of my life. I promised the lord that i will stop smoking, stopped yesterday.. day two and feeling very anxioys, sweaty and aggresive. But enough is enough! |
