Radio Static

I am in the San Diego area and have noticed the last few weeks horrible FM reception....lots of static on the MAIN stations. Never used to be this way.

Thinking this has to be caused either by:

1) Interference from:
a) Other transmissions though this in not likely as it is all across the frequency dial.

b) Solar activity which would impact all frequencies within that range.


2) A decrease in output power from the source and this is also not likely due to multiple stations with different transmitters. Unless the industry is trying to drive people into digital and satellite radio?

Anyone else experiencing this issue in other locales?
