BOMBSHELL: New Study Destroys Theory That Tax Cuts Spur Growth
One economic theory has been repeated so often for so long in this country that it has become an accepted fact:

Tax cuts spur growth.

Most Americans have gotten so used to hearing this theory that they don't even question it anymore.

One of our two Presidential candidates is so convinced of the theory that he has built his entire economic plan around it--despite the huge negative impact additional tax cuts would likely have on our debt and deficit.

But is the theory true? Do tax cuts really spur growth?

The answer appears to be "no."

According to a new study by the Congressional Research Service (non-partisan), there's no evidence that tax cuts spur growth.

This study would only have value if we were only measuring tax cuts and the economic output of the time period. But that's impossible, because everything else in life is measured in the results. Government action, government regulations, the global economy, our ever expanding fiat money supply, government spending, and dozens of other things are involved.

This so called study only works in the minds of people who don't have a clue about real life.

50+ years of tax cuts and trickle down economics have proven they are a flop. All they do is increase the divide between the very wealthy and the middle class.

How so considering over the last 50 years the world has seen the greatest economic boom in recorded history? The United States specifically becoming the richest, most powerful and greatest civilization known to man?

Actually, just three repub presidents have followed the supply-side scam since Reagan introduced it in 1980, the other two being the Borrow and Spend Bushes. That was enough to send the national debt soaring from almost nothing to something like $13 trillion.

It's funny that the repubs never use the term "trickle-down" anymore. They loved bragging about the wonders of "trickle-down" in the 1980s but they don't say it these days.

No serious economist believes that crap anymore and yet retarded merkans keep voting for it.

All taxes should be cut or eliminated, since they are illegal.

Republicans are more likely to cut taxes than Democrats, therefore, I vote Republican, even if they're both just as awful with respect to spending.

Personaly I think Americans should be taxed to death, very little should be left in thier pockets at the end of work week, they should not keep most of the fruits of thier labor, just enough to survive, government needs it more, it's not yours, it's governments, you exist for them, you have no obligations to your posterity, just to government, that's how all great societies where built.

Higher income taxes on the wealthy is what the study is talking about. Higher income taxes on the wealthy is historically associated with greater economic prosperity. The graphs in the article bear this out. Trickle down has never been shown to work. George W. Bush's upper income tax cuts didn't help the economy. Remember the crash of 2007-2008?

Re: BOMBSHELL: New Study Destroys Theory That Tax Cuts Spur Growth
that study as interesting it is is also faulty, the tax cuts can not compensate for the reasons economic growth is slowing or even reversing... good example is france where they just recently tried (still in effect) the opposite and tax the rich, just about the entire top 1% left France, the rich has no problem getting a citizenship elsewhere, also to consider that even if you dont pay tax at all as corporation or "rich" the amount of money you save is nothing compared to move your production to a country with way lower labor cost... the solution is to end the tariff/customs free world economy OR increase the price of oil 10x so shipping becomes so expensive that local production becomes more profitable... there is no solution that would be considered perfect for anyone, any solution will have a negative effect on every single person... tariffs for example would put an end to cheap Chinese merchandise and food prices would also increase a LOT... but eventually with increasing local production wages and job availability would go up too, also if one country raises tariffs so will others, this will pretty much kill exports ... the opposite France showed that taxing the rich to death is not a solution as they have a choice to leave, other countries are more then happy to see a flood of millionaires and billionaires as immigrant

i actually agree with this, instead of income tax or tax on business profits... increase sales tax, tariffs, customs tax, put tax on fuel

Canada showed that taxing alcohol, cigarettes is also a great way generating taxes ... IF they ever legalize other stimulants or recreational drugs that could be taxed too with very high taxes

Now these tax cuts tax offshore money the same rate as if it's stateside, so now 4.2 trillion USD comes back into America.

That's a tax cut that will spur growth.

So does this infinitely wise study hint that the opposite - government clawing as much fucking money away from businesses as they possibly can - spurs growth?

It's pretty easy to smell bullshit when your head isn't stuck entirely up your ass.

It depends. If I get a tax cut, I will spend every penny into the economy. I wouldn't expect much from tax cuts for the rich to stir the economy.

However, I wouldn't give much credence to liberal propaganda being put out by a Liberal "think" tank. don't we all know by now that all liberals HATE Donald Trump? And will say anything to discredit him.

"According to a new study by the Congressional Research Service (non-partisan)," Riiiiight. Non-partisan. uh huh.

So do tax increases increase growth in the economy? Or do tax increases have NO affect on the economy? Well shit, let's just tax the shit out of everyone. oh? Obama's already done that and that's why we're in a never ending recession.

they don't spur growth especially during recession, they just keep business to relocate in lower tax states.

so if your neighbors countries are in recession/depression and you cut taxes way below them...for the theory of communicating vessels business will move in.

Greek and Cypriote companies are moving to Bulgaria by 20k new company year.
