Blue any advice on trying to catch a stray? I want to catch a small stray that has been wandering into my yard this past week. He seems friendly and will allow himself to be petted when eating. Any other time that I try to get near him and he runs like a bat out of hell.

I feel bad for the little guy. He seems to be young cat, no more than 1 year old I would guess. I have a family member that would give the cat home.

If you have a pet taxi, you can put the food towards the back and just wait for him to go in to eat it, then close the door. That's how I catch strays at my husbands work.

Thanks Texan Buckeye. I will have to clean up the pet taxi though. My tom cat, Boots, was using it as his bedroom for a few weeks so it may still have his odor. Bad thing though is that Boots has taken to sleeping on the couch. :\

I will ask the Nobody for help. :p

Let us know how it goes with the kitty. Hate to see cats living on the street. You also may want to makes sure he's not one of your neighbors cats. Cats are opportunistic critters. Where their is food and attention they will come. lol

My fiancee and I have asked around, no one seems to be the owner of the cat. I would like to keep him, but with the 2 cats, a dog and fish we have to many pets. :)

Well I almost had him! The little guy sneaked into the house and was eating food left for our cats. Before I could even get him, the male cat (Boots) jumped him. Crazy cats started running out from the house into the driveway.

Very few cats will let a strange one in the house. They are very territorial. They need to be introduces slowly :)

The strange thing though is Boots is a very laid back lazy cat. His mom (Cat) is the crazy one. She will attack the family, the dog and plants. She gets really friendly though when she is hungry.

I was really bored when I was given Cat. So I just named her Cat. :) I had never seen cats fight/play so insane until I had Cat and Boots. They've killed two of my fiancee's plants and one electrical wall plug.
