FEMA battles online misinformation with 'rumor control'

I don't know what they're worried about. Most people are too ignorant to acknowledge FEMA's potential for abuse. I tried bringing it up in one of my college classes today and all any of these supposedly educated peers of mine could do was sing the praises of FEMA and the government.

I'm sure FEMA will operate very efficiently when they have the opportunity to set up internment camps for dissidents. Even when that happens, the proles will turn a blind eye because the American dream is more pleasant to believe than the American reality.

Not bashing you OP, this is the type of thing that keeps me on GLP.

It's alright, AC. I find it rather interesting that this site attracts some of the most... let's just say colorful people on the planet. So many people would much rather stick with the System's Phoenix/the supposed Eagle than venture out entirely on their own when it comes to free and independent thought processes. It's ironic all within itself, AC, that this site winds up with ALOT of political threads where the OP wonders what everyone's political views are, to pick a side and stick with it, and other nuttiness. Quite alot of people here will attack you outright for having your own opinions while their trapped thought processes in ever shrinking "boxes" are continued to be praised and even respected. Now THAT'S irony.

I find that the ones who think this is all bullshit should pull their heads out of their asses and actually take a look around themselves instead of the hot, wet, and smelly enviroment of their colons where they apparently find great comfort in. If anyone's bothered to take a look at the included link, you'd know that some political individual got some form of punishment about this already on Twitter. I don't think that individual had deliberately spread false information. I think that individual was set up and was entirely fucked over. As in "You're not willing to play OUR ball, pack your bags, and get the fuck out of town, boy! You're not welcome around these parts, little man!". I'd imagine similar stuff will happen to others who try to keep others apprised of what's going on with FEMA's apparent laziness and otherwise total ineptitude to help anyone but themselves. I wonder what the people who have their heads up their asses, maybe for the warmth, will have to say should they say anything on Twitter, Facebook, and or any other social media and FEMA deems what they said to be a "rumor" and have them punished for whatever they said on social media?

I get you OP. I think most do around here. I don't ever recall anyone ever praising the group, in fact, I've seen the same video posted over and over again about the one senator who asked an interesting question but got shut down. Though the names escape me, I'm sure you know the one to which I refer.

Probably not. Sorry. I try not to pay much attention to the political threads and websites. Just too much sheer insanity and stupidity for me to handle. Especially considering the fact that someone as so much farts in public whether deliberately or accidently it's THE political scandal of the century and other front page crap that makes me just want to ignore that crap all the more.
