iVotronic voting machines used in PA and other states have a known hack that can change every vote in the central election system.
Now here are your voting machines and the issue they admit about them, remember this is just what they admit to.

Things to Look Out For

• The PEB slot on the face of the iVotronic is particularly sensitive. The EVEREST study showed that a voter with a magnet and a properly programmed PDA (with an infrared port) could gain privileged access to the sensitive functions of the machine. If you see anyone spending a long time in an iVotronic voting booth and engaging in activity that appears to be centered around the upper-left part of the iVotronic, they might be messing with the PEB slot. Of course, they might also just be voting, so don’t cry wolf.

• The VVPAT printer (RTAL printer) is connected to the iVotronic via a cable that is connected to the top of the machine. This cable, unless the jurisdiction has purchased special cables or connectors, can be disconnected by a voter and various types of mischief could be performed (from printing extra VVPAT records to messing with the internals of the iVotronic). If you observe anyone disconnecting this cable, alert the pollworkers immediately. If a pollworker is disconnecting this cable, it should only be to swap out a printer and you should be able to observe the whole process.

• The PEB device is particularly sensitive. An attacker who gains access to a PEB for a short or extended period of time can change votes on the PEB or attack the central Election Management System when the PEB is returned to election headquarters. PEB devices should only be handled by pollworkers and pollworkers should keep a vigilant watch over their use of the PEBs throughout the day (that is, they should not be leaving them around casually and the area in which the PEBs are kept should be secure and monitored at all times). If you see a voter or non-pollworker with a PEB, notify election protection immediatey.

Here was the original post I did, or one of them anyway. Thread: Voting machines in N.C. are giving vote to Obama when voters cast ballot for Romney (Page 3)

Now going to take you all back to 2007 and what the same machines did.

After the primary election, Martin Cuellar beat incumbent Rick Flores by 37 votes. After the first recount, Flores beat Cuellar by 133 votes, a 170 vote swing. After the second recount, Cuellar came out on top by 39 votes. The second recount was monitored by the court and allowed poll watchers to actually watch. E&S [sic]software is blamed for difference in election day results versus second recount results.

[Webb County Elections Administrator Oscar Villarreal] said electronic voting machines use what is called a Personal Electronic Ballot (PEB), which is a cartridge that stores vote information. The PEB is inserted in a computer that tallies the votes.

"That (information) is downloaded into the computer, and the computer includes it into the totals," he said. "On a recount, you can't print ballot images from the PEB; you have to actually insert a flashcard."

He said Precinct 231 illustrated the problem.

"In 231, it was reported that 72 people voted (electronically) ... on election night through the PEB," he said. "When ballot images were shown from the flashcards, it was only showing 43."

Now going to quote the investigation of what happened.

Page 56 of the report, though read the whole thing it is crazy!

Attacks via input from precincts As discussed in Section 6.2, malicious input carried on iVotronic and M100 results media can take over the Unity system when it is loaded for counting. This enables many of the most serious and comprehensive attacks we discovered.

Right here above they admit the machines were hacked but the votes stood.

One more quote from the report.

At Election Central the results can be imported into ERM using either the Master PEBs or the Audit Image on the CF cards.

Pg 49: We found fundamental security deficiencies throughout the ES&S Unity EMS, iVotronic DRE and M100 optical scanner software and hardware. Virtually every mechanism for assuring the integrity of precinct results and for protecting the back-end tallying system can be circumvented. Election results can be tampered with in the ES&S system by exploiting any of a number of different vulnerabilities we discovered. The normal access provided to individual precinct poll workers (and in some cases to voters themselves) is sufficient to conduct attacks that alter county-wide election results and that, in some cases, cannot be detected or recovered from through audits or recounts

Pg 49-50: 6.1 Ineffective Access Control
The firmware and configuration of the ES&S precinct hardware can be easily tampered with in the field. Virtually every piece of critical data at a precinct – including precinct vote tallies, equipment configuration and equipment firmware – can be compromised through exposed interfaces, without knowledge of passwords and without the use of any specialized proprietary hardware.

Pg 50: 6.1.1 iVotronic passwords and PEB-based access controls
Access to the iVotronic DRE configuration is protected by several hardware and password mechanisms, all of which can be defeated through apparently routine poll worker (and in some cases voter) access.

They openly admit they have been hacked and a single machine can change an entire election result with zero way to trace it!! But they keep them in the field.

Re: iVotronic voting machines used in PA and other states have a known hack that can change every vote in the central election system.
Can't make this stuff up it's so outlandish.

Pg 54: 6.3.1 iVotronic firmware
The iVotronic terminal is based on an Intel 80386 embedded computer processor controlled by firmware stored on an internal flash memory chip. The firmware is designed to be field-updated through an administrative menu function, with new firmware loaded though the terminal's CF card interface. Four security mechanisms are intended to protect against unauthorized firmware loading:

• Access to the firmware update menu function requires a supervisor (or QA) PEB.

• A 6-8 character password is required to enable firmware update.

• The firmware is loaded through the CF card interface, which can be protected by a sealed sliding cover.

• The firmware update function is disabled while the polls are open.

Unfortunately, these mechanisms are ineffective. We found several practical ways for an attacker to bypass each of these security mechanisms and successfully replace or alter the iVotronic firmware, without knowledge of any passwords or secret election parameters, possession of a PEB, or breaking any seals. We found ways to carry out these attacks even when the polls are open. It is possible, for example, for a voter (with no inside assistance) to load new firmware into an iVotronic after he or she is finished voting.

Funny part I am quoting the commissioned government study it self!

But you still have newspapers trying to say it is safe. Read this BS...

Article: In order to put to bed conspiracy theories about a Big Brother government hacking into the iVotronic Touch Screen Voting System and changing votes, the Winfield Daily Courier asked Cowley County Clerk Karen Defore how the system works.

[link to m.winfieldcourier.com]

What conspiracy theory? This is an official commissioned study! Where they admit the machines were acutely hacked on more than one occasion and the hack is so effective it cannot always be traced. The PEB can rewrite the flash drive in the machine and the machines hard drive and one single PEB can even rewrite the central Election Management System entire vote tally!!! And is easily duplicated in tests without any passwords being used!

Nov 6th 2012

Snip: U.S. District Judge Gregory Frost held an evidentiary hearing on the injunction request, after which he said he’d rule later today. In court, Fitrakis’s lawyer asked the judge to consider the alternative remedy of a sample hand-count of ballots in counties where the software is being used. The complaint contains no direct statement of knowledge as to the existence of the alleged electronic back door.

‘Ridiculous’ Allegations

Matt McClellan, a spokesman for Husted, rejected the allegations as “ridiculous.”

We did not touch, update, patch or do anything to the tabulation systems or the voting machines,” McClellan said yesterday in a phone interview. “There’s no vulnerability to the system whatsoever.”

McClellan said a “reporting tool” was installed that is intended to ease the reporting of results tonight.

Election Systems & Software called the case “frivolous and without merit,” in an e-mailed statement, saying it was filed “with the sole intent of undermining voter confidence.”

“We are confident that the pending legal proceedings will find the basis of this claim to be false,” the company said

it's obvious electronic voting machines are a tool of the controlling 1%.

Yet no political group is taking on the task of going back to hand count. Something smells here......

We've already known about this

Hence the huge outrage when the voting machines were first introduced (not that the American people actually did anything about it, but still).

It’s an old thread, but glad it got bumped.

Both sides believe they are in control and can manipulate the system in their favor; so neither side freaks out about this.

Sadly the truth is the real people in power are not the ones we voted in or out of office.

Either way we truly need to go back to paper ballots.

When you see 119% voter turnout in some precincts and areas where not a single voter out of thousands voted for one side or the other, we know how it was done and on what machines.

Everyone always looks at the big issues, what scares me even more are the little issues like votes on new taxes & the manipulation of revenue generation.

Three things to end the 1% control

1. Take the profit out of war.

2. Open the books of the Bank of International Settlements (BIS)

3. Only hand count voting in all elections

Just need to manipulate a very small % of the vote to change the elections when they are this close.

Read that second post close, it says it all. The things need banned and destroyed.
