Story takes place just outside of San Antonio. Neighbors band together (mostly) to survive disintegration of society after power goes out. Much to think about. ---------- "The Wind In The Willows" by Kenneth Grahame and "The Hobbit" by JR Tolkien are two old favorites that I have bought early enough to reread them myself before giving them as Christmas gifts to young family members. ---------- "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom How lives are surprisingly intertwined and the unknown impact one has on others. An uplifting book that brings a feeling of peace. (2003 bestseller) ---------- Cat Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook, Fully Revised and Updated by Delbert G. Carlson (Hardcover) ALSO Dog Owner's Home Veterinary Handbook same format Really valuable info for making decision on whether or not to take your pet to the emergency vet's office in the middle of the night. What to do for a sick or injured animal until you can get help. Goes way beyond the usual animal care books for pet owners. Not exactly Christmas reading, but books you (or another pet owner) might be glad to have. I just got these as gifts for a friend who has 4 dogs and 3 cats. ---------- Last Edited by Ralph--a house dog on 12/02/2012 12:59 AM "Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night.....Rage, rage against the dying of the light"-----Dylan Thomas HIS NAME IS SETH RICH [link to biblicalselfdefense.com] [link to forum.1111ers.blog] Always remember that "for the greater good" will not include YOU.
