if this tech is the real deal, this wont necessarily turn the global economy on its head.
remember that we live in a world of scarcity. everything is finite and there will still be jobs out there.
why you ask? well because we WANT stuff. food, clothes, the latest phone, a house, car etc.
this technology if embraced wont come into existence overnight and it wont mean less jobs.
it just means that there are more resources and materials available to produce more of other things that we want and the jobs will gravitate there too - im talking about in a true 'free market'.
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27619458 yes there will be new jobs out there after things settled back down. but we will lose a lot of current job markets, ones we don't need. and i can see most large chains closing the doors and moving them all into one large store, like Castco in Idiocracy.
