Isn't rather quiet when doom is supposedly so near?

December 21st is just weeks away. This has to be the biggest doom date anticipated for the longest amount of time as any doom date ever. Yet everything is pretty quiet. Black Friday didn't even yield anything worse than previous years. Could it be we are in fact poised for a rather mundane and peaceful holiday and new year with no great change? popcorn

anyway, things are chugging along nicely. floods everywhere, Eqs shaking, big volcanoes full to vomiting, auroras pulling faces at us.

nice.

Re: Isn't rather quiet when doom is supposedly so near?
Yes it was in the 80's with the new agers that I first started hearing about it. But it stands for me as the longest particular date I have been hearing of the end of the world. Many people have become familiar with it over the last decades so a lot of people have some expectation of the doom. I figure even if nothing happens there should be a lot of people in the population who will go bonkers and do crazy things because they believe it's the end.

True there has been floods and some events but it all seems fairly typical of our current age.

Calm before the storm.. could be that I guess.
