Los Angeles (and CA in general) is still the weirdest place I've ever been to.

Los Angles has an allure like nowhere else, and I think that Jim had that irresistible attraction to it (ala LA Woman) like so many many others have had over the decades.

Much more open-minded than Tallahassee or all of Florida.

"The West is the Best" he often sang ('The End').

And he either lived in trendy Laurel Canyon with Pam and her nearby boutique, or he lived alone on La Cienega in a nondescript 2-story motel.

Strange Daze, indeed.

So many many stories from that whole era..

Jim was an ENIGMA.

I saw a video one time where Ray told the story of the time they did the photo shoot for that album
(in downtown LA, in skidrow). They had to do that famous photo real quick as the manager didn't want them in there, so they had someone distract him while they hurried up and got that album-cover photo and then skeedaddled out of there.
