I don't mind them so long as they don't eat my critters, but wowza they can sound scary at night. One night my son was in the horse barn and I was in the chicken coop on the other side of the yard and I thought he was playing a joke on me and growling in the woods near the coop..but then they all went off howling and he was still in the barn yelling 'Mom! Mom! are you okay?' and we both had to stay put until they moved on. It's the only time I have ever felt threatened. I knew he was safe though because our mare was a beast. She killed a German Shepherd that was attacking them and tossed me a time or two. A coyote or even a whole pack would have met their match in her. Quoting: drinking buddy I walked out Saturday night only to find 20 to 25 screaming like mad. At my back door. They are viscous af. I'm sorry I have no love for the savage's. Non what so ever. They prey on our family. Birds do not bother me at the least. And some are massive. Its mother nature and all. Screw a coyote. I hate the sombibitches. we had them last night - they sound insane. Always about 2 or 3 in the morning. Shine a bright spotlight on them and they shutup. Worry about my goats though. Yes! we used to have sheep and that always worried me too. Do you have electric fence? It got to the point where we locked the sheep in a barn at night - we didn't lose any here but when I lived on the Navajo Rez we lost sheep and calves to them. It is not pleasant to walk out the front door only to hear a pack eating and killing the fk out of something. I have no reverse when it come to packs of anything. I am used to wakeup all hours of the night when my dog hear them close. To hell with tue coyote....... Some are massive just look.  |
