He defied the odds and did well.

I know another guy (a music-friend's acquaintance) who lives in Eau Claire, WI, and he graduated from Lane Tech in Chicago, as he is also a paid-musician to this day. He plays in symphonies and does gigs all over the country when they call him up to come play.

I talked to him one night over beers last year in Arizona and he scolded me for dropping out of band. He took it VERY seriously and he made a living there, also. But he bitches about the lack of money n his 2019-disappointment out there today.
