Holey crap! This town and county goes crazy when there is an eagle or hawk or owl rescue. Folks have to come from Peoria from a sanctuary and transport any birds. I can't even begin to explain how nuts it gets but they are wonderful. Bald Eagle called Trooper was hit by a car on I 55 and they got him all fixed up. There was a huge release with a lot of people in attendance. Pre covid I think.

We have had some big guys in our yard--one on a basketball hoop (townies) and one that landed on the handle of a snow shovel. I was looking out at night and the shape of the head, the size of the owl and the height of the shovel handle all came together to look like there was a man standing there. I'll take what ever we can get around here, lol.
