I was fairly ambivalent about Shirley MacLaine as an actress. Certainly she never surpassed mediocity in that field, but as ineffectual as she was, she still came across as a bloated egomaniac.

Then someone gave me one of her first books. What a condescending pile of twaddle and tripe.

She pandered to the lowest intellectual common denominator. Her journey of self discovery was nothing more than overblown advertisement for New Age trinkets with some absurd reincarnational fantasies thrown in.

Anyone who fed off that crap she produced is a very sad little sheep that hasn't graduated beyond grade school level reading material.
