This is a curious video. I found it interesting that the NE was not as bright as I expected. During Sandy when NYC lost power, I was eagerly looking forward to viewing a starry sky...but, it was cloudy. By the time the skies cleared, the full moon muddled the show I had anticipated. Interestingly enough, I've been able to see more the past few years here on Staten Island, even with the city just across the harbor. The sky seems more intense, which is good: I need stars. -- TRUST THE PLAN -- .......WWG1WGA...... ____________________________ still in awe of many things |

I regularly use a telescope to watch the skies ( less now, it's winter in the PNW ) and the northern lights are a wonderful thing to witness..... If there was just less light. I used to fight for less light pollution, it is a fight that can't be won. There are too many people who would rather see it on a computer screen and stay indoors after work than explore the vastness of the sky at night. Would you believe that I got a bad karma for making this post?. I'm laughing at that, I guess I was right about staying home and being shown rather than learning about the skies. Now, to go pass out some green karma.
