Quoting: Anonymous Coward 27515407 ^^^ this is a prime example of just how very stupid the people in this country are. this is why democraps win because the very gullible happen to be also very very envious of people who have more. if democrats were really serious about taxing the rich to pay their fair share, then the first place to start would be tax on "wealth" and not just income. how about a 40% tax on warren buffet's wealth? now that would be a nice chuck of change wouldn't it? then we could start with taxing federal "employees" whose combined employment package can very often be over 150,000 - 250,000 $. and last but not least we need to tax EVERYONE in this country. 51% of the people are carrying the other half, if you want true fairness then every one should pay according to their ability. it is crap that some people pay nothing and yet they use all of the services and infrastructure as much as they rest of do. get rid of the income tax and place a flat tax on everyone, no deductions, no loopholes, and no EXCEPTIONS. |

Quoting: Lady Jane Smith ^^^That^^^ In the past we have always rescued them from their personal stupidity. No more rescues to anybody, any corporation, any union, any state/county/city or town! Time to learn decisions/elections have consequences. Absolutely. This is the problem with the Democrat/Republican dichotomy. Democrats can and will do anything to acquire and retain power, including destroying the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans. Republicans are constantly trying to rescue those same hundreds of millions of Americans. Democrats are busy drilling holes in the bottom of the boat so everyone will call them "Captain", and Republicans never cease to run around with chewing gum patches, trying to plug the holes while never "attacking" the evil bastards with the drill. Time to stop patching the holes. Time to shrug into a life raft and let the 'Rats go down with the ship. :sinking: Only a fool would believe that. Neither party has your interest in mind. They both want your money, and want to use it for the people to which they are beholden. I'd bet you aren't one of those people. I wondered when the White House bottom dwellers were going to arrive. Took longer than I thought. Its cool man, I get it, you aren't intelligent enough to think for yourself. One day, when you grow up, and see this is all a farce, maybe you'll remember the day you disagreed with Rs and Ds being different sides of the same coin. |

He is early in his career and so far people are not impressed is the general feeling feeling I get. The tax on the rich, is not really a tax on the rich at all. Even if they raised the tax rate for all of those earning $200,000 ($250,000 for couple) a year, it will only pay for a total of four days of government spending. The other problem that Obama is refusing to inform the public is that those making the higher tax bracket are the very ones creating jobs or trying to create jobs. Taking them more is only taking more jobs away. This in turn lowers tax revenue, because there are fewer people earning a living and requiring more government money that doesn't exist. This then requires more taxes on everyone, to continue paying for the jobs that Obama's taxes are losing. |

How about this for a change. Grow up and get a life! Seems to me you are the one doing the finger pointing. I instead of blaming others for any misfortune that comes to me, I look at the path that I took that brought the misfortune to me. Simple example, my car got hit while parked, the person did not leave a note. Am I mad at them, nope, I parked it there (in a parking spot, with a meter, enough distance between the car behind me and the one in front), so in the end that is my fault. You know how you and others or your ilk would have looked at it? Some welfare person, without a job, hit my car, probably didn't have insurance, nor a liscence, so the bum didn't leave a note. Like I said, when you grow up, maybe you'll start to see things for what they are. |

I've probably participated in significantly more political activities that yourself, on both sides of the table. I know people on both sides, have wrote stem cell research papers that have been used by multiple senators, have been invited to the RNC every presidental election since ninth grade. Have had tickets to multiple inagurations. In the end, I've seen first hand that it doesn't really matter, that the lobbyist are in control. So I don't begrudge either side. Instead I try to educate people to not to rely on government to fix their lives, take their life in their own hands, live within their means, and if possible, help those that want to help themselves. |

Have you all not been paying attention? Republicans must give Obama what he wants if they want him to own it. If taxes go up because the GOP fights, the press will turn it on them. Obama can't lose unless you give him everything he wants and let the country crumble around him. You must tow the line on this one. Obama owns the Press, or did you not see Rachael Madcow and others at the whitehouse getting pats on the back for helping re-elect the president? |
