Ok so I took from that that they're due to flip virtually any time.. This is not shaping out to look very well, and that's being conservative on doom risk given.

If you read below the graphic, it explains how it gathers data to obtain the percentages.

INFO FROM SIDC - RWC BELGIUM 08 Jan 2013, 1155UT

Solar activity is expected to reach eruptive levels, with C class flares likely. There is a risk for a M class flare from NOAA AR 1652. Geomagnetic activity is expected to be very quiet for the next 48 hours.

The graphic updates every 15 minutes. Sometimes, only the UTC time stamp changes. The probabilities are overestimated when the sunspot is on the side of the disk or is not entirely visible. Similar process occurred with the Dec. 15 "huge" sunspot.

Re: Not one but two HUGE SUNSPOTS
Still no suntards. Forming suspicion. DOOM HINDERED
 Quoting: aliensbro

Some of us amateur suntards have quit in disgust at the total lack of doom.

Either the various atmospheric heaters - haarp, esicat, suro are generating some form of shield, the black science of te electric universe, and neutralising the sun spots when they become earth facing or the GLP effect is way out of fracking control.

What ever it is it's destroying my sex life... ;)
 Quoting: vase creator 31518002

Over the years I would've expected atleast a solar flare issue, not apocalyptical but something to happen in regards to our sun. Somehow we do seem conveniently protected from it.
 Quoting: aliensbro

I am really at a loss for explaining how we've been avoiding them hence why I'm considering some really "way out" theories.

I certainly don't want a Carrington event but a few geo orbit sats being taken out would be nice. Although countries taking their power grids offline in order to protect them, for a few hours/days would be awsome. :).
 Quoting: vase creator 31518002

so did NASA really crash those 2 into the moon before christmas, or did they loose control of the and thats where they ended up?

For example, the source above has a current 0% of x-flares, though I am not sure how often it is updated. So I don't know about that 58...

today with the aid of my diddums < i blow glass and a uv number 6 shield no telescope i viewed a spot on the sun,i phoned a friend and in dis belief told him what i thought i was looking at with my bare eyes,,i told him it had to be the size of jupiter,,with greater dis belief he told me there were 2 sunspots the size of jupiter on the sun developed within the last 14 hrs..after watching the moon show up late this weekend and knowing now for the first time in 200 years the farmers alminak is wrong and now the appearance of these spots i am getting the picture of how senator jim davis can tell me the govt expects 3/4 of the planet to be dead before spring..brown dwarf g 1.9 turned our moon upside down in 2010 and it has been spinning at 180 degrees nightly in our sky for 3 years fluxuating rise points by 40 degrees in every 3 day period. the mayan calendar clearly states it marks the season of the return of our binary sun not the end of the world, but now im beginning to wonder about jim davis being right.

Can anyone is here give us an idea of how things will go down if both of these sunspots put out an X? And maybe even the most important things to do right after it happens?

It ALL depends on the resulting CME, iregardless of the size of the flare, if indeed there is any flaring at all.
