Re: Not one but two HUGE SUNSPOTS
Ok so then right now these would be considered relatively low magnetic complexity. Which I read earlier is prone to rapid change?
 Quoting: aliensbro

Well if they are indeed Alpha class.

The concern in the main solar thread is that the classification of "alpha" is not correct. One can look at the magnetogram and see it looks fairly complex. There is a chance it is more complex than an "alpha" but may have received that label until further data is analyzed. Hope this helps!

Re: Not one but two HUGE SUNSPOTS
The Carrington Event was brought about from two CME's, not one.

The first paved the way and reduced all matter of resistance such as dust, debris, etc.

The second CME reared up behind the first one at just the right time. Creating an exaggerated condition.

If those spots fire in the right time interval, we could literally get a repeat of the Carrington Event part II, the Modern Collapse.

Right after the Dec 21 2012 doom fail!

Ok so I took from that that they're due to flip virtually any time.. This is not shaping out to look very well, and that's being conservative on doom risk given.

I'm not quite sure. I would imagine if magnets were oriented to a parent magnet, and the parent magnet flipped, wouldn't that cause the other magnets to flip as well? What's the Earth's magnetosphere looking like right now?
