That made me think about lobster loaf so I looked to see if that existed. That's when I came up with lobster meat loaf. Yeah, I get bored at work sometimes. All this has happened before, and will happen again. |

Seems to be the same thing to me, waste of good EXPENSIVE food. What about stuff like crab cakes? Just because it's expensive doesn't mean you can't use it in different style dishes... I really LOVE lobster... can't eat it much because Mr. Cholesterol here has to be careful, but I do LOVE me some lobster!! Ate a lobster pot pie once. Man that was tasty. I suppose I would be willing to try just about anything reasonable. Give it a try and let us know how it worked out. Post a pic if you can. ''Too many good docs are getting out of the business. Seems to be the same thing to me, waste of good EXPENSIVE food. I know...I don't buy full lobsters, I get fresh lobster tails and usually serve it with fillet Mignon too...I cook the tails in a fresh lemon butter and garlic sauce, yum! Think we'll grill out this weekend, even though it's freezing :) I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Yes, but the best/ideal crab cakes usually have MINIMAL filler/breading in them. That meatloaf pictured, eek!! |

Last time I had lobster was at Red Lobster, EWWW! Too salty and tough, no more from there. Perhaps you have just inspired my weekend menu! |

Maybe my typo about meat load wasn't so inaccurate. I REALLY didn't want to Google this, but am trying to find a recipe for lobster meatloaf...found something here. If it's similar, it's mostly ground beef, bacon, and bread crumbs? Like I said, seems like a waste to put in yummy lobster as you wouldn't even taste it. Lobster Club Meatloaf This recipe is from the Lobster Club Restaurant in New York City. If you use dried herbs, the ratio is 3 fresh to 1 dried. 3/4 pound bacon, finely chopped 4 large leeks (white part only), finely chopped 3 red bell peppers, chopped 2 onions, chopped 6 cloves garlic, minced 3 pounds ground beef chuck 1/2 cup Dijon mustard 3 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves, finely chopped 2 tablespoons fresh sage leaves, rinsed and well chopped 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves, finely chopped 2 tablespoons Tabasco sauce, or to taste Salt, to taste Freshly-ground black pepper, to taste 3 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs 1/2 cup prepared tomato sauce Read more at: [link to www.food.com] [link to www.food.com] |
