White Rocks On Mars

These curiosity images clearly show a chalky white material (calcium?) encrusted on sections of the Mars rocks.


The first image shows a white substance partially covering one side of the large rock. Notice how the edges of the rock are slightly rounded and many small pebbles are scattered on the surface (ancient sea/river bed?)

The second and third images show a smaller flatter rock partially encrusted with the white material. The rock appears to have been overturned by curiosity showing the underside.
