Quoting: wisc_natureboy Hell, I'd probably stay elsewhere during the demo. Where does the ventilation come from into your flat? I'd worry about that more than drafty windows. I don't have A/C, if that's what you mean. In the UK, ventilation just means opening windows (which now, I won't want to do for at least 5 months..) The ceilings are pretty high (12 feet or so) so I don't tend to get problems with condensation because there's a lot of air volume in the flat. I'm not really too scared about going out; but it's different in your home |

Cover your windows in clear plastic shrink wrap, then blow dry. Instant extra window, sealed for your protection against the elements. Unfortunately, if you have an air driven hvac system it will pull the air from outside and you will still end up with some circulating throughout the building. If you have steam heat, no worries. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32864162 FFS it is DUCT TAPE, not duck tape. What ever happened to the English language? NO! - mine actualy says "duck tape" on the inside of the roll. It's DUCK brand, you see! [link to www.octanecreative.com] QUOTE: The first name for Duct Tape was DUCK. During World War II the U.S. Military needed a waterproof tape to keep the moisture out of ammunition cases. So, they enlisted the Johnson and Johnson Permacel Division to manufacture the tape. Because it was waterproof, everyone referred to it as “duck” tape (like water off a duck’s back). Military personnel discovered that the tape was good for lots more than keeping out water. They used it for Jeep repair, fixing stuff on their guns, strapping equipment to their clothing... the list is endless. After the War, the housing industry was booming and someone discovered that the tape was great for joining the heating and air conditioning duct work. So, the color was changed from army green to the silvery color we are familiar with today and people started to refer to it as “duct tape*.” Therefore, either name is appropriate. END QUOTE So there! |

I'm not really too scared about going out; but it's different in your home I would suggest a hepa filter air cleaner, since you will be closing yourself up for an extended period of time. Think stagnant air! I have Progressive, which was made by Sears. Nice, and some ionize, as well. Any hepa air cleaner should improve the quality of your life. Here is one like mine, but from...
