Also, why would you need vector thrust in BVR warfare. 5th generation warfare today is based on IT where a single aircraft os only a node in a larger matrix. The same wrong was made from usaf in vietnam war with the new F4 fantom,new then, who was the materialization of the after wwii thinking with the aa missiles weaponry coming in service who would stop the old fashion dogfights (no gunz)in some months the f4 pilots was desperately asking for 20mm gun pods to fight the incoming migs-15s and 17s who was always passing from the sparrow and sidewinder missiles leting f4 pilots running for their lifes (without close dogfight,fox 3, capabilities). Ofcourse those wrongs were corrected in 3 generation fighters f-14s f-15s f-16s and on bringing back 20mm cannons on crafts, together with high maneuverability for fox-3 dogfights. Thats the right way to make weapons, you never abstract capabilities...you only add. |
