CHOCKY - STRANGEST KIDS TV EVER

It was fucking awesome back in the day though. Wasn't Spielberg supposed to be making a movie out of it??

Very weird in that i remember now that as a kid as loved it , but until someone played that intro i had forgotten about it completely.

Was it ever shown outside the UK ?

I figure it must have been for Spielberg to want to make a movie out of it. It was definitely way out there for kids tv, when you think of the other stuff that was on at the time, I even remember my Mum enjoying it.

Apparently, didn't realise it was a novel prior to it being a TV series, so maybe it hasn't been shown outside of the UK.

I watched the first 2 series when i was a kid, but i think by the time series three was shown i was doing other things (im 39 now)

Anyone outside the UK remember this ? would have been about 1984.

Actually I don't remember if I did or not lol, just remember enjoying them. Feel sorry for kids today, its all crappy cartoons and twats dressed up in bright funny costumes. Kids TV back in our day was great.

Yeah it was good, even on my black and white tv :)

Most of it would be seen as too politicly uncorrect now lol.

Heck, we had Jamie & The Magic Torch, Grange Hill (back when it was a bit more cutting edge than the insipid mess it ended up as), Rainbow!, Dangermouse! Button fucking Moon!, Pipkins, Rentaghost, Marmalade Atkins, Sooty, Playaway, and Jim'll Fix It.

Mmmmm wait, it was going so well until that last one lol.

It was very very dark and creepy.

It would never ever be shown to kids these days. Everything has to be bright and happy with lots of colours now.

It didnt do us any harm , strange how back then so much TV had alien stuff in it though.

Anyone remember Rainbow when Zippy & George actually used to sit outside the house looking in through the window, before they moved them inside behind a convenient counter in the middle of the room???
