Report: Now over 44% of Fukushima children tested have thyroid abnormalities
The Tenth Report of Fukushima Prefecture Health Management Survey was released on February 13, 2013. [...]

The results compiled up to January 21, 2013 revealed that 41,947 (44.2%) of 94,975 children had thyroid ultrasound abnormalities. Together with 38,114 children (13,645 or 35.8% had thyroid ultrasound abnormalities) tested in the last half of Fiscal Year Heisei 23 (FYH23) from October 2011 through March 2012, a total of 55,592 (41.8%) of 133,089 Fukushima children have been found to have ultrasound abnormalities.

The Fukushima Prefecture Health Management Survey Planning Committee revealed that 10 of 186 eligible for the secondary examination from FYH23 were suspected of having thyroid cancer as a result of the examination. They reported that three of them were confirmed to have papillary carcinoma of thyroid gland and already had surgery. The remaining seven have 80% chance of having cancer based on their biopsy results. [...]

The percentage of abnormalities from FYH24 at 44.2% is higher than previous results of 42.7% and 43.1%, and the overall abnormality rate, for FYH23 and FYH24 combined, of 41.8% is higher than the last result of 40%. The proportion of children with nodules equal to and larger than 5.1 mm and any size cysts have increased. [...]

Don:t use always the Headlines from Enenews but show the Truth;
3. Results of Radiation Dose Estimates

Radiation doses for a total of 361,906 residents have been estimated to date. The results of radiation dose estimates for 354,736 respondents (excluding radiation workers) suggested that the doses for more than 90% of the respondents were <2 mSv in the Kempoku and Kenchu areas (Fig. 1). The doses for approximately 91% of the respondents in the Kennan area and more than 99% of those in Aizu and Minami-aizu were <1 mSv. The estimated doses for 78% of respondents residing in Soso area as well as for more than 99% of those in Iwaki district were also <1 mSv (Table 2).

We talk about this Topic since ancient Times:
"There is no statistical Data in the World about the Thyroid Size",
we cant compare this Numbers with the People in Greenland
or in Santiago, Los Angeles or Nerja!

Since ca. 50 Years we get bombarded by Hormones
(Thyroid- Hormone Production)
in our Food, Water and even in Shampoo so i am surprised
that the Jap@nese Size is still soooo small.

Check the Data and see that the absolute majority of the positive tested Children in F:Shima
have a Thyroid of under 2mm (Millimetre) Diameter!

I don:t say we should not look for it but we should not give
such a great importance to the Thyroid-Topic,
Thyroid is just a hot Topic because of H. Caldicot and her Money making System,
imo. it is much more important that we reduce the Danger from
the still running NPP.!

Thyroid is just a Distraction from the real Topic
(Turn the damned Plants off)
with a 95% Chance for Healing!

Re: Report: Now over 44% of Fukushima children tested have thyroid abnormalities
Ministry: Rate of Fukushima thyroid abnormalities roughly normal
More than 40 percent of children from Fukushima Prefecture tested for thyroid abnormalities, such as small cysts or lumps, but that rate is not troubling because it roughly matches data elsewhere in Japan, the Environment Ministry said March 8.

"The results in Fukushima Prefecture were approximately the same as in the other prefectures," said Yasuo Kiryu, a senior ministry official in charge of radiological health control.
---
To obtain control data for comparison, the Environment Ministry tested 4,365 children aged between 3 and 18 in three other cities far from Fukushima, using ultrasound devices of the same performance and diagnostic standards.
---

The surveys found cysts measuring up to 2 cm and lumps measuring up to 5 mm in 56.6 percent of the children tested. Larger cysts and lumps were found in 1.0 percent of them, compared with 0.6 percent in the Fukushima children.

"The survey found that the situation in Fukushima is not abnormal," said Shigenobu Nagataki, a professor emeritus of radiology at Nagasaki University.
