Not sure if just trolling, or just really depressing. Wrong place for sympathy bud.

I'm not depressed. Not looking for sympathy. Just a little sad.

Anyone else missing someone tonight?

I miss someone everyday.

they arent in this world anymore...

I've shed many a tear and drunk many a bottle over them...

but i try to focus on the good times, the fond memories.

and it makes me smile :)

I always loved this quote from the 2002 Movie 'The Time Machine'

"We all have our time machines, don't we. Those that take us back are memories... And those that carry us forward, are dreams"

I've reminded him that he swore to uphold the Constitution. I promise he will be on our side WTSHTF. He didn't know what he want to do when he graduated so joining the military was the easy thing to do.

I'm sorry, RayGun. I don't want to imagine your pain.
It's interesting that your sons name is Robert. I used to sing a song to my son, who is probably around your sons age. The name of the song is For Baby or For Bobbie. I hope you like it. Until he's home, the wind will whisper his name to you. Hugs to you RayGun.

Re: Melancholy
I miss my son Robert who joined the Navy as soon as he graduated from high school. He has been gone 5 years.

I'm listening to Elton John and drinking beer and I can't stop crying.

I remember the day he left and I knew he would return someday and he would be a totally different person. I cried the day he left but knowing now what I didn't know than I would of cried for days.

So, I miss Robert, I miss him so much.

 Quoting: RayGun

You would have earned a lot of sympathy had you not been crying and drinking beer at the same time. Some folks may say it is the beer that makes you cry.

Yeah, and all of the military "Actions" since 911 (and before) have had nothing to do your constitution and have in fact been illegal.

I didn't understand from your OP whether your son is KIA or MIA or you just miss him.

Sorry, if he died, but you should ask your evil government about that.

Yes, I am a parent of 5 children (just one marriage btw). I would never countenance any of them joining the military in these times. There is no honour in it - it is all for the bankers and that is the truth.

I'm not going to let my kid go and die for fucking criminal evil bankers under the guise of "spreading democracy to save the world."

Fuck THAT.

THEN, he can go and tell the military industrial complex to go fuck itself!!
