Question about collection agencies. | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 9465779 United States 02/24/2013 07:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have a medical bill for a little over $600 that I refuse to pay. I was conned into having tests done. A doctor did an EKG on me at my request. He told me I needed to go to another doc for more tests and made an appointment for me. I asked him if it was really that serious. He told me "You are the sickest person I have seen all day. Be sure to keep that appointment" This was about 4:00 in the afternoon. Quoting: zip50 Anyway they ran 3 seperate tests on me on 3 different days...kept telling me to come back. My insurance covered the bulk of the test costs. They sent me a bill for the remaining $600.I paid them $20 deductable at each visit. After the tests, they told me there was nothing wrong with me after making me think after each test that I needed futher testing. BS. I was conned and I believe the first doc I saw got kickbacks from the second doc. I refuse to pay the balance. The bill is going to collections. How would you all handle this? Pay what I owe |

Not going to pay it. I think this is a very common practice. That SOB played on my fears. There is not a damn thing wrong with me and he knew it. |

Contact your insurance carrier, they may be over billing you. you may have rights through them or the tests may have a maximum fee under the contract which they are violating. This is very common. They hope you will just pay up. If the insurance company finds they are violating the contract, they can pull their contact. |

Here's how to make the motherfuckers stop calling you. [link to credit.about.com] |

If they start hassling you ask them for proof of contract. You won't hear from them again.
