I just noticed this today.
GLP itself does not set flash cookies on your computer, however when you click on any GLP thread that has a youtube embed on it, it sets a flash cookie on your drive.
I detected this using KFC (Kill Flash Cookies).
Here is you a test to run on your PC.
If you have KFC installed, click on it to open.
then clear all flash cookies.
now, refresh any GLP thread that has a youtube video embed on it. But don't start the video.
Now go back to KFC and run another search for flash cookies.
Find youtube's hidden flash cookie and you didn't even start the or watch the video yet.
no matter how many times you delete this flash cookie with KFC, it returns immediately after refreshing a GLP page with a youtube video embed on it.
does anybody else feel uncomfortable with this ??? |

flash cookies are NOT deleted by cleaning your browser cache.
it remains on your system until a flash cookie remover is used.
this can be a security hazard. |

Every start-up of my computer there are new ones. Yes, they aren't browser-dependent. The browser cookies are deleted when I close the browser; they slip through. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35386370 I use Firefox 19 and have an add-in called :Better Privacy". This add-in will remove all LSOs and the add-in can be configured to remove all Flash cookies when you close the browser. Easy peesey. |
