By the time I made it to the University of Michigan under an art scholarship, I was drawing and painting in the style of the "picture-painting" (can't even remember the term now...been to long) that was the classic style of Albert Duher and others. Then....I hit my sophmore year nightmare and met up with the head of the Art Department who made a standing BAN on students trying to paint/draw using classic masters as their Mentors. They'd decided that the art students would be groomed to "meet the marketplace" for after graduation. They had cameras--why encourage someone to paint like Davinci? lol! So...I dropped out of art school and went into something else. Very sad karma in my life! Life can be a strange path...but ultimately it has brought me right here, right now--and THAT is a thrill!
