WAYNE HERSHEL--we have now discovered was the researcher behind the ARCHEOLOGICAL FACTS which Ridley and Tony
Scott used for major parts of "Prometheus." (A
personal friend of Wayne's posted on the thread
explaining Hershel's disappointment at not having
been given even some small recognition (let alone
royalties for illustrations lifted directly from
his books!)

I for one would like to thank Wayne Hershel for his
extraordinary "vision" and genius in bringing
forward to a thirsty world, the REAL HISTORY of
our ancestors and thank him for the exquisite
background materials that made "Prometheus" a
paradigm-changing film in the industry!

He also has a new book having to do with
archeological discoveries and time-travel. Sounds
really interesting! Thanks to posters contributions
on this info.
FOR THOSE WONDERING WHO OR WHAT "PROMETHEUS" MEANS....
For the content of THIS THREAD there are two references
to "Prometheus:"
1. "Prometheus" the Greek Myth. (Definition below)
2. "Prometheus" the name of the space ship.
Also inside the "Prometheus" ship were the following:
2 archeologist/scientists (Shaw and Holloway), 1 geo-guy,
1 biologist, several armed guards and an android by
the name of "David" (who looks very much like Lawrence
of Arabia and speaks with a british accent.) Oh....There
is also a frozen billionaire named "Wayland" and his very
screwed up daughter (who runs his company). I don't
think any of them had pets.

Definition of the Greek Mythological story of "Prometheus"
n Greek mythology, Prometheus is a Titan whose name meant "forethought", and indeed, he was said to have the ability to look into the future. Prometheus, an archetypal "trickster"-god, is wiser than even the gods and considered a culture-hero, i.e. a helper of mankind.

He is the younger brother of Atlas, who was banished to Tartarus during the Titanomachy. Prometheus, however, sided with the gods in the war, having foreseen their victory. Helios and Epimetheus also chose to defect. In doing so, Prometheus also tried to persuade his brother Atlas and their father Iapetus to side with the Olympians, but both of them ignored his attempts. (From "Gods of War"
