Here I went to the doc because Igot anxiety realizing I was messing with Everything I shouldnt have been, as A believer in the Living God, and His Christ, and the doctor gives me medication that made it worse. The Benzos over the past year and few months have perpetuated and exsterbated the initial symptoms I went in for because of messing with meditation. And come to find out coming of of them is damn near one of the hardest things to come off of because your not in any way out of the clear when the drug goes out of your system, no! Your body has chemical changes that have taken place that only time can heal with a lot of hell that goes with it. Many of the withdrawl symtpoms from coming off of benzos typify what some would consider to be demonic interfereance and oppression. THis stuff opens up your spirit I believe and rapes your individuatily/ego/sense of self, Just like the meditation. So anyways. They are saying in a Doctors Manuel from the Uk - The ashton manuel, that i longer acting benzo typically is needed to get off of a one with a short half life. Like colonzapam has 12-24 half life. They say valium helps in getting off other benzos because you can manage a taper easily being that there are not inter dose withdrawl symotoms because it has a half life of 100-200 hours or something like that. I want to get off Klonapin/colonzapam but they withdrawl symptoms are maddenin and so numerous in number an outsider would think those dealing with this are most likely just attention seeking but the fact is this drug should never even be given to people without very close supervision. They say 2-4 weeks is the longest they should be used and even then a taper is needed to come off of them so why would My doc perscribe this to me or anybody for more than the reccomended period? It's mind boggeling they would be so careless. They perscribed it to me for over 16 months and THEN I GET A message saying I cannot get any refills untill i see my doc. What a crock of crap. Seriously. Walk with me |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 35538438 United States 03/04/2013 02:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Great site for folks wanting to withdraw from benzos- [link to www.benzo.org.uk] If you have anxiety, you may wish to be tested for this often undiagnosed and treatable potential cause. This used to be considered "rare" until they developed an accurate low cost blood test for it, now its becoming more common... [link to www.mayoclinic.com] Signs and symptoms of pheochromocytomas may include: High blood pressure Rapid heart rate Forceful heartbeat Profound sweating Abdominal pain Sudden-onset headaches — usually severe — of varying duration Anxiety Feeling of extreme fright Pale skin Weight loss These signs and symptoms develop because this type of tumor produces an excess of chemical compounds called catecholamines. Excessive secretion of catecholamines — the hormones adrenaline (epinephrine) and noradrenaline (norepinephrine) — can lead to persistent high blood pressure or wild fluctuations in your blood pressure, depending on whether the catecholamines are released continuously or in shorter bursts. The intermittent release of these hormones can cause other symptoms to occur from time to time as well. |

Sure the docs gave you the prescription but you were the one that listened and believed that the pills would help. Ive been in your situation, no doctor prescription though but i dabbed myself in so many pills... so many.. I would not take anything back though for they made me who i am now which is so much higher than before i started drugs and meditation. Meditation is amazing if done right. Done wrong can be extremely dangerous as you already can see. Be the one who is in charge of yourself/thoughts/beliefs, then the right way will show itself. |

Sounds like it to me....and rather than face it, or take ownership of it you are pushing it away so you won't ever have to deal with it. I will tell you this, that unconscious fear will control you behind the scenes without you knowing unless you bring it out into the light. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 2884401 United States 03/04/2013 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been on 1mg x4 a day clonazepam for 8 years. i know one day soon my dr will just kick me to the curb with a quick taper. i know it will happen the way they are demonizing benzos(no more money in it. None are under patent) so i've been slowly tapering myself which is hell but I've been able to save about 400 tabs for when I finally get dr doom. This way i can taper correctly and hopefully ease the hell of the with drawl. It seems no matter how long you've been on these benzos most drs think a 2 week taper is all that is needed. I'm hoping since i've been on it for 8 years that he will be open to a 3-4 month taper since what is the friggin hurry. I see the writing on the wall though. Seroquel works for social phobia and this is the drug you should be on* lot of money in this drug..Too bad it's a friggin anti psychotic). The use of benzos are soon going to be a thing of the past that is why there aren't any new ones coming out. No new benzos not profit...No incentive to prescribe plus their bad rep. They have help me immensely and i've been on the same dose for 8 years never needing to up the dose nor has it lost much of it's effectiveness.. Everyone is diff and i know the protracted withdrawls are real and should be handled slowly and appropriately like switching to a comparable dose of the logest acting benzo out there...valium being a good one. the problem is most drs don't see the as necessary. |

Did you come and see what was going on in my abode? Sure seemed like it. Be careful if your going to go cold turkey because coming off benzos can give you seizures. Make sure you have someone with you that can look after you. I was an opiate user for nearly 10 years and meditation pretty much saved my ass. If it hadnt been for the meditation (and support) I'd never been able to prepare myself mentally to over come my addiction. It worked so well that I hardly went through any withdrawals. The mind is very powerful and once hooked on a substance it will use every trick in the book to keep you on it. It's like living with another person inside you that isn't you. Just remember you are in control of what happens to you. I've been clean for 2 years now and my life is far better than I thought it ever could be, even with everything that is transpiring around us today. Meditation is very useful if used properly. If you have too much negative thoughts or energy then you will open yourself up to unwanted things. You have to learn to train your mind to block them out through the use of positive thought. Confront your fears don't hide from them. Good luck OP my thoughts are with you. I know you can beat this, so don't let the fear of what will happen when coming off them stop you from actually trying. |
