I never understood why people have this overwhelming desire to believe so much that the US gov put people on the moon.
Oh yeah, patriotism.
That will make the masses believe practically anything.
I saw it on TV when I was 9.
My grandpa who worked for Hughes said it was bullshit back then.
He said they initially seriously wanted to go to the moon with Apollo, plan A, but when they soon found it was not possible with their technology, they resorted to plan B - Bullshit.
I felt it was propaganda on that same day when they were "broadcasting live", when the announcer kept drilling in the "WE" thing so much.
