Our electricity driven society, built on a complex web of intersecting wires and computer circuits, will suddenly come to a standstill.

All Hell will probably break loose shortly after.

if it works in real life the way it does in theory then there will be no coming back for 95% of the population caught in it

try replacing all of the multiple hundred ton transformers that may be shot to hell

how would they even be transported?

I have solar & hydro until the emp then I still have a river for fresh water & plenty of fish.

Transformers.. Do you suppose there's is the slightest chance this government is fully stocked on them in case such a horrible thing happens?

They are stocked with millions upon millions of ammunition, weapons, food for their bunkers, supplies, you name it. Is it possible they are also ready for an emp attack?

I don't think our government is that well thought out. They are more worried about banning 20oz soda.

Would a metal storage building work as a Faraday Cage? If so, would windows render it useless?

very. if it happens in the night..when the lights go out for the power and water companies, there is only several hours left of tap water.
people will wake up to tap water for about an hour or 2 and then the dread realization..

the emp reality is what compels me to keep about 15 gallons of fresh water and 20 of washing water in my house at all times.

I still dont understand exactly would happen. why couldnt you just flip the breaker back on or replace the connecters or somthing like that?

It fries every circuit …. No flipping back on a breaker. Also look it up we had a solar flare that toasted the USA in early 1900,s???? my date is wrong I am sure Google it
