Vacuum tubes are safe from EMP, so you might want to learn about them...also your microwave oven is a Faraday cage which can protect from an EMP, although you will probably not have any warning... Quoting: BRIEF The cord on a microwave has to be removed in order for it to be effective. Based on what I read, the cord serves as an antennae if it's still attached. A metal garbage can work and needs to be lined with cardboard and the contents wrapped in plastic, then aluminum foil, will/can work providing there is no access. Tell me if this is incorrect. I have been doing some reading with all that is taking place in this stinking world! What is the deal with vacuum tubes? Yeah, it is more complicated that just tossing your phone in a microwave, but with putting the idea in people's heads it will lead to the serious ones doing the research...and in the case of EMPs tin foil "hats" will certainly help :) [link to en.wikipedia.org] The thing about shielding with metal is it needs to be grounded well or else the signals can be concentrated into a small spot in the brain. It acts like a focusing dish. If you guys are serious about shielding, get the RF shielding paint and paint an EMP safe room. Paint under the carpet, paint the ceiling and walls, doors, trim. Get shielding glass or curtains. Then ground it well into the ground (several feet with 00 copper cable). That will be the EMP safe room. Anything inside will be safe as long as the door and window are closed (screens can be used to vent safely) |

In all seriousness, I am grounded with copper and I have aluminum siding. However, I don't have a metal roof. One room is all I need. What impact would an EMP have physically on a person if any? I know a nuke would be bad news but what about the energy? Last Edited by Skepticnumberone on 03/13/2013 03:41 PM Skepticnumberone |

It won't be N Korea that does it, although they will be blamed for it...at first...then it will soon become undeniable that something entirely else has happened. seems like that global cultural sewage pipe on the west coast has a lot to do with it. I think we'll see a display that it CAN be done.kind of like a warning. The US government has been working with the for a long time now, and in doing so, they pissed off major players. they should have chosen better friends, now it seems they will share their fate, but it's not too late. |

HAARP: bounce a high intensity ULF radio pulse to deform/weaken the ionosphere over a strategic area. Make this coincide with the arrival of a CME, creating a path to ground over target = Super EMP weapon. Maybe even an earthquake inducer? (Ionosphere over Japan heated up prior to 2011 Tohoku quake) [link to www.bibliotecapleyades.net] [link to www.bibliotecapleyades.net] Seems that everyone cares about the ionosphere all of a sudden. All newer cars would be affected too since they are computer controlled, even some older carbureted cars would be affected as a lot of them have ignition modules controlling the spark. and old diesel is your best bet. |

The author of One Second After is a good friend of my dad and is a local history professor. The book itself is scary enough. But when all the locations used in the book are in your backyard it takes it to a whole other level. I can visualize all of it so vividly. Absolutely worth a read. Oh yeah don't forget the video game "Homefront". It always pops into mind when i hear of problems with North Korea or EMP's. |
