Jonah 3:5 The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth. PSALM: 102 In the course of my life he broke my strength; he cut short my days. 24 So I said: “Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days; your years go on through all generations. 25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. Like clothing you will change them and they will be discarded. 27 But you remain the same, and your years will never end. 28 The children of your servants will live in your presence; their descendants will be established before you.” Susie For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.....Matthew 6:21 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1 |

In fact, on this upcoming Good Friday, it should be the poor, the destitute, and the marginalized that are brought to St Peter's to have their feet washed by the Pope. This done, they should be fed the best the Vatican has to offer and then given well-attended and attired rooms to sleep for the night. Then, and only then, will I believe the Pope and his minions are sincere in doing the work Christ asks of us all. |

I think they are actually lovely photos. His face radiates a happiness, a peace. If we could all only be just 5% as humble as this man is what a world it would be. |

The new Pope should find and wash that man's feet before attending to any other matters. LUKE 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, 'Peace be to this house!' 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 11 'Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.' REVELATION 11:7 When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the Abyss will make war with them, and overcome them and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city which mystically is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified Susie For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.....Matthew 6:21 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1 |

Sackcloth and ashes were also used as a public sign of repentance and humility before God. When Jonah declared to the people of Nineveh that God was going to destroy them for their wickedness, everyone from the king on down responded with repentance, fasting, and sackcloth and ashes (Jonah 3:5–7). They even put sackcloth on their animals . Their reasoning was, “Who knows? God may yet relent and with compassion turn from his fierce anger so that we will not perish” Susie For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.....Matthew 6:21 There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: Ecclesiastes 3:1 |
