One egg has hatched! [Bald eagle nesting cam]
Ok- so a break from the daily gloom. A thread was made not long ago about this live cam of an Eagles nest. There were two eggs, one has hatched. You can watch them eat, build nest etc.. and now, a baby to watch. She just fed it, the dad is bringing more straw/whatever to further secure the 7 foot nest!

Cam is on bottom right, you can also select High def. The cam is real time.

Enjoy!

No problem. I've had it on most of the morning, there's sound on it too. I was doing something earlier and one of them screeched, scared the crap out of me. hahah

I know right. That cam is about 300 miles north of me. It's as windy and rainy here. Wish it was a nightvision cam though.

No problem, I really enjoy watching cams like this too. I watched a family of paragon falcon's a few years ago.

99% of all Birds of Prey die from starvation or are killed by vehicles withing their first year of life.

Wildlife officials protect wildlife to their ultimate demise. Legalize the private keeping and breeding of Birds of Prey, and the numbers will be uncountable withing 10 years.

Will not happen because wildlife agencies jobs, vacations, retirements, etc.. depend completely on animals being kept on the edge of extinction through their idiotic rules and regs.

The bald eagle was taken off of the extinct list because of such programs. Most of the private citizens don't need a bird of prey though, in my opinion. Unless licensed or trained etc.. off course. My area has hundreds of wild bald eagles and it's great. I seen one for the first time about two weeks ago. I was driving down the road and it swooped across the road. I felt very insignificant in the presence of the large bird. lol

Your right, but you have no idea why it was placed on the protected list to begin with.

Up until the early 60s, Wildlife officials paid bounties on the talons of any killed Bird Of Prey. Over 10,000 Eagles in Texas alone were taken for bounties paid out. All species were on the edge of extinction till they decided to reverse that program, then place the blame on DDT to make them look like heroes.
